Here's a bit of local government propaganda and the illusion of public participation . . . The City Auditor wants to hear your ideas and suggestions to improve Kansas City, Missouri, government.
Meanwhile . . .
KANSAS CITY RESIDENTS HAVE BEEN DEMANDING AN INDEPENDENT AUDIT OF THE WATER DEPARTMENT FOR YEARS!!!
Two suspicious suicides and a few elections later . . . Kansas City water bills continues to rise and any criticism of the water department will be ignored until after the bond issue vote and then completely from there on . . .
You decide . . .
Several years ago a Chicago Firm was given a 12-million dollar contract to "fix" the Water Department. I would sure like to know what we got for that money.
ReplyDeleteHAHA!
ReplyDeleteAudit the TIF projections versus actual results.
ReplyDeletegood government! thanks.
ReplyDeleteCan he audit the crooks that are running the streetcar?
ReplyDeleteWas the City Auditor able to keep a straight face while doing this?
ReplyDeleteLMAO!
Kay Barnes/Glorioso, and others, ignored the water/sewer problems for eight years for political reasons to avoid loss of voter approval.
ReplyDeleteFunk worked on solutions.
Only visible result of $12 million to Chicago is repair insurance being pushed by Troy-boy and others.
If the sewers, storm and sanitary, have been neglected, how much has the drinking water intake from the Missouri River been neglected?
The Water Dept has elaborate PR structure in place, but North of River has had periods of horribly foul water that you wouldn't bathe in. You have to get to the stores quickly before all the bottled water disappears. I refuse to drink KCMO water. Do Sly and Troy even drink it?

There will never be a real audit until the crime/corruption machine is swept out of city hall.
ReplyDelete@10:57 has some great ideas.
ReplyDeleteeast patrol. it has the most upside if improvements could be made, most dienside if they're not.
ReplyDeleteLast 2 bonds for water/sewer. EPA mandates flood control, lets go back 15 years at least. How about with the increases in rates- specifically what are the revenues used for. Now is the time people. How about audits of the yearly budgets and how they change though out the year. Where does the $ go?
ReplyDeleteA performance audit of the street car and a financial audit of the water department.
