KANSAS CITY RANKS AMONG THE DEADLIEST CITIES IN THE NATION!!!
This morning our blog community noted Kansas City's high crime ranking as we wait for the citizen task force against violence to FINALLY make a declaration of some sort during one of the most violent years this town has seen in nearly a decade.
Of course this is a serious topic but tonight let's take a quick moment of pause and realize that residents have grown weary of the local slaughter met with nothing more than the same trite clichés from the local political leadership.
And so, we offer this KICK-ASS TKC BLOG COMMUNITY INSIGHT into the tragic murder situation that's bittersweet and thought provoking.
REMEMBER, STATISTICALLY SPEAKING . . . KANSAS CITY IS MORE VIOLENT THAN CHICAGO!!!
Tuesday Night Sarcasm: If we try harder, we can be #1
The Wall Street Journal recently reported (9/27/16) the Top 20 cities in 2015 for homicides.
I'm embarrassed to report that St. Louis Missouri whooped us and are ranked number 1 this year at 59.3 murders per 100,000. Their lofty position, along with Baltimore's second place finish, is attributed to the civil unrest experienced by both and the team from Black Lies Matter.
Kansas City was a lowly #7. If there was any bright side to this dismal report, we kicked Chicago's butt as they fell to 17.5 murders per 100,000 citizens and fell to #12.
We still have roughly 3 months remaining in 2016. I have a great deal of faith in Chief Forte's leadership. I'm confident that in the 3 months remaining in 2016, with his careful guidance, we will soon jump higher in the rankings. If his recent performance is any indication, the Chief is clearly shooting for that coveted #1 position.
