KANSAS CITY HOMICIDE #80: COWTOWN SHOOTOUT SUNDAY CONCLUDES WITH POLICE INVESTIGATING URBAN CORE DEATH SCENE AFTER GUNFIRE REPORT!!!

This KANSAS CITY BLOODY SUNDAY is almost at a conclusion after a spate of serious and deadly shootings rocks the metro.

Accordingly, here's the latest local killing news . . .

Fox4: Officers responded to a report of shots fired near 25th Street and Tracy Avenue around 6:20 p.m. Sunday. Upon arrival, police discovered the body of one victim.

Unofficially, this is local murder #80 compared with 64 at this time last year in what is reportedly a 7-year-high homicide count for this date on the calendar.

Like it or not, that has been one of the most bloody Sunday's in the Kansas City metro for quite some time as local politicos prepare to talk gun rights in the next few days.

  1. The first step to stop any political dissent is to disarm the population. That's obviously the goal here and the news wants us all to forget that we're just one Supreme Court judge away from losing our right to bear arms.

  2. Gun crime is out of control in KC. We're not talking about taking away guns, we're talking about making sure this city doesn't turn into the Wild West.

  3. ^^^^ Too late.

  4. Awwwwe. Beacon Hill. The hills are alive with the sound of gunfire.

  6. The broken windows theory just went up in smoke... again. Those are new houses in the top pic.

  7. Look at the last 18 hours. You have this, Shawnee Wal-Mart, and Westport. All shootings all over the city with one thing in common. Take one guess what that is? Yep, black people. Already saw black mama on the news saying her baby didn't have anything to do with the Shawnee shooting. Sure he didn't.

  10. @9:51 You been to Overland Park lately? Not a really great place, tons of new apartment dwellers. More murders this year and a lot last year.

  11. 9:51 take a look at the apartments 52nd & Foster, 78 & Grant, duplexes 95th & 69 highway. Get a hold of a yearbook from SM West and Westridge. Look at all the apartments around Oak Park Mall. These places and others are completely ghetto now. The plague has moved in OP and destroying everything they touch as I type this.

  12. Did the Chiefs players show up at 25th & Tracy and lock arms in solidarity or did they just save that disrespect for the National Anthem on 911? Your hands go over your hearts guys.

  13. Hey, you wanted everyone to own a gun - the mentally ill, the terrorists on the no-fly list, abusive husbands, ex-cons, everyone. This literal interpretation of The Constitution is just as stupid as a literal interpretation of The Bible.

The notion that hoarding guns protects you from government oppression is simply paranoia.

That's why we call you crazy gun nuts, because you're mentally ill.

  14. Moving to Louisburg , or maybe Stanley to avoid the Groids ¿¡¡!!

  15. I think there should be a mental evaluation before you can own a weapon. Maybe, even an IQ test just to make sure you can fully understand the repercussions of your actions.

  16. The "Wild West" argument is a little dated. Leftists watching too many movies, me-thinks. Armed societies are polite societies. True, it takes great discipline and training (and the right mind) to hold and control a tool that deals death so swiftly, but since all are free and all are valid and all are worthy of respect it takes armed Citizens...like the ones who were absent in Westport this weekend at 3:20am...to hold the linea against savagery and thuggery.
No one in this day and age will pass those mental evaluations. I far more fear those anonymous commenters than I do a "conservative right-wing Neandertal" who wants to allegedly turn the world into a shooting gallery (gutless cowards who don't even have the moxy to take a class in firearm operation...though they surely own one just like Roseanne Barr's bodyguards) than I fear the average thug on the street.
Stop supporting the thug, please. No matter their race or creed. Grow up. Be responsible. Be strong and protect the weak and the innocent, for we are all both at some time.
Override Nixon's veto of H.B. 656. Make Missouri safe again, the way it was before overindulged ganstas took control of Westport and the Plaza. Our own cowardice caused this plight. It's not race and it's NOT the police, who are the greatest professional victims (of political stupidity) of our time. The culprits are a demographic sub-minority who are holding us all hostage.
And if I'm wrong....then my guess is wrong that the male and female who shot indscriminately into a bar in Westport are of this demographic sub-minority.
Use your rational mind, your Wise Mind (and not your foolish heart) when making political statements.
When I read history I feel bad for many things and many peoples, such as soon-to-be Nike-branded slaves in chains, but that's not a primary concern. I'm more concerned with the 6 innocent people shot by 2 haters from the thug/ganster culture who will cry "police brutality" and "racism" when brought to justice.

  18. Why bother registering guns there not committing the crime.
Register all the Criminals for Life.
Make them carry a permit to be in public.

  19. The Chiefs don't go to the hood unless they need a real haircut. Haven't in years.

    ReplyDelete
  20. The 80+% of metro residents who DON'T live in KCMO would very much appreciate that city having an actual municipal government more interested in its horrendous crime and homicide rates than providing a 2-mile streetcar for the suburban children to "ride" on weekends.
The continued upside down priorities are unbelievable!

  21. When are people going to get it that those who are legally buying and registering guns and then complying with all the associated rules and regulations are NOT the problem??? Hey, so-called leaders and activists, pay attention here - the problem is with the thugs, bullies, and cowards who prey on (mostly) law-abiding folks who are out there actually working for a living trying to do the right thing, trying to raise their kids to be productive members of society, and just trying to enjoy life. I'm sick of hearing GUN CONTROL every time someone is shot...Its not the problem. We have rules and laws coming out of our ears and we don't need any more on the subject. What we need is for people to respect life, to not take things that don't belong to them, and to comply with the rules and laws of society. And for those who can't control themselves and choose to run amok causing destruction and misery to the rest of us - they must be held accountable for their actions. Plain and simple...I hate what has become of our city and communities and I know people are sick of living in fear.

  22. 1:57 - Your initial statement is correct. People who compare the rate of gun violence today to that of the "wild west" have watched too many movies and read too little history. Guns were used far less frequently then than now.
