Don't be so cynical . . . This is an encouraging bit of recent work against local crime . . .
"The effort stressed quality of life issues in addition to crime. Officers checked on warrants and combated prostitution, but they also detailed some of the area’s more severe codes violations and marked problem areas for tree trimming. After the operation concluded, the department brought in a city trash truck to clean up roughly two tons of garbage throughout the targeted zone."

In other words: KCPD just spent a ton of money and resources arresting people on unpaid traffic tickets except for the six felons they stumbled upon. Sounds like we are kicking major ass on the homicide clearance rate.
ReplyDeleteI fully support this effort, but, knowing our judicial system, I would bet that most of those rounded up are back on the streets.
ReplyDeleteThe Jackson County Jail is so packed the courts don't know the difference between a vicious murderer and a guy bust with a nickel bag and a DUI. Mean Jean Peters missed her window of opportunity for a state election. Another reason for TKC to stay awake at night.
ReplyDeleteIt was nothing more than a "Horse and Pony Show".
