After a somewhat peaceful weekend, gunfire rings out on Sunday and threatens a local neighborhood with another killing in broad daylight.

KSHB: One person has died from their injuries after being shot near 56th and Hardesty in Kansas City, Missouri.
Fox4KC: Shooting around 11:20 a.m. Police described the suspect as a black male, in a black Chevy Equinox.
KCTV5: Man dies in southeastern KC homicide
Again, this is the 85th murder so far compared to 75 at this time last year and still what some report as a 7-YEAR-HOMICIDE-HIGH TREND . . . The Citizens Anti-Violence Commission is slated to release their initial findings on the local murder trend this month after one of the bloodiest years in recent local history.

ReplyDeleteKC is going the way of Detroit and I'm not sure if anyone can stop it. What is troubling is that the homicides aren't even a major issue. I'm glad that we're talking about tax reform and some improvements east of troost but until we address the killing, there isn't going to be any progress.

That fact was swept under the rug and still the violence continues. That's a damn shame.
