Mayor and City Council have consistently shut down local transit activist Clay Chastain despite the fact that he has garnered the support of THOUSANDS of local voters for his petitions.
Today, Mr. Chastain offered to present his latest light rail plan to Councilman Jermaine Reed's committee. The offer was politely declined.
Here's the response from Clay:
"Okay, there you have it... The largest transportation and infrastructure project (Light Rail Ballot Question #3) ever proposed on a KCMO ballot for the voters to consider, and the chair of the City's Transportation & Infrastructure Committee (Germaine Reed) says (to my request to make a presentation before his committee) it " is not appropriate (to discuss it) at this time."!!!!!!
"Just when would it be appropriate to discuss this ballot initiative (and better inform the council, media, and voters), Mr Reed? After the election?
"I offered to give the city council the truth about Light Rail Ballot Question #3 and take their questions but I guess, at least, this council member can't handle it."

ReplyDeleteClay, you just don't get it, the citizens have told the council they don't want your plan. Maybe you have some signatures but the majority don't want it.....when, please, when will you get it......

Nobody wants Jermaine Reed, either. Yet, here we are. Two rejects don't make a right.
