The Kansas City WWI Symphony

An ambitious new Kansas City musical endeavor . . .

Description:

"The Kansas City Symphony commissioned contemporary composer Jonathan Leshnoff to create a Symphony that expresses the very essence of the WWI experience — the love and heartbreaking loss, unimaginable horror and joyous homecomings. We invited Jonathan to look through letters at the National WWI Museum and Memorial, here in Kansas City. The chosen texts have special meaning to the Symphony and Kansas City. This video explains the amazing connections in this Kansas City Symphony project."
