It's fine where it is. Stop living in the past. Slow news day?
ReplyDeleteI thought the link was pretty neat. Never seen those photos before.
ReplyDeleteIt is actually pretty cool. And you never know, nothing lasts forever and someday there might be a stadium downtown.
ReplyDeleteSly needs to throw KC's hat in the ring to host a future Olympics. It might cost billions, but there's always plenty of money and it would surely boost his energetic campaign to get a political appointment in DC and continue to feed his ego and D-lister celebrity.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe a World's Fair.
Go for it!
Back then....political deal were cut on the location because of local power people who owned land............same scenario for the location of the airport. City power elites owned / acquired land and enhanced their fortunes by selling the land to the public (taxpayer money)
ReplyDeleteLooking back, the stadium should of been downtown or midtown. Why put it in No man's land? The stadium is so far on the outskirts of the city, it might as well be in Independence. In fact, it pretty much is.
ReplyDeleteA downtown stadium would have never survived the thugs of KC.
ReplyDeleteJust think - $50 million would not even cover the architects and lawyers fees of today.
ReplyDeletePfffffft! Money is no issue. Hell, KC has an earnings tax. The city can mooch off the whole damn state if they can dream up a con.
ReplyDeleteThe traffic problems would have tied up city streets and slowed down the TootToot Train Ride.
