Kansas City Country Club Plaza Pushes Back Developers And Overcrowding For Now...

Quick look back a real estate fight which reminds us that developers are only interested in a small stretch of land inside KCMO. Take a look at cowtown mini-Manhattan still in play after all these years and despite a recent nearby spate of violence . . .

  1. Take a look around the plaza. Developers have already built several tax subsidized mini skyscrapers. The "plaza plan" has been bypassed so many times it ought to have it's own offramp. Some developer comes up with enough cash, sly and the rest will let them build whatever they want.

  2. At least one of the rejected projects wasn't receiving any subsidies. Most subsidies in KC pay for subsidizing parking, or to justify projects that aren't dense or tall enough to make financial sense.

  3. The Plaza is becoming a complete shit hole. People celebrated, as did I, when Highwoods sold. What a fucking joke. The people the new company brought in are horrible.

First, they specialize in malls. Now we have a calendar store. The Plaza is opening a fucking Halloween store. Are you shitting me? It makes sense though. The bitch running the show is named Marilyn, and she fucking looks like Marilyn Manson. She will fit in with the Halloween store too. She's a cross between a fucking ghost and a vampires. She needs to get some damn sun. The new head janitor Ray treats everyone in the stores like shit. He's from Boston or New York and acts like he's intelligent. The guy is dumb as a box of rocks, and has even less personality.

What a shame, they've turned it into a shit hole. Moving out business soon and blasting them on the way out.
