KANSAS CITY 18TH AND VINE JAZZ DISTRICT NEEDS INFRASTRUCTURE REPAIR, TOO!!!

As Kansas City spends MORE THAN $100 MILLION OVER A GENERATION to support tourism and develop viable club life . . . It turns out the this East side hotspot desperately needs water infrastructure repair just like the rest of the city.

The latest on tragic deferred maintenance . . .

Consumers may experence low water pressure/no water in the area of 1800 VINE ST due to a water main break.

As part of $5 BILLION worth of EPA mandated repairs that are still on the back burner.

Developing . . .

  1. As predicted....other city funds will be diverted to the 18th and Vine so called project to make up for the Council only approving $27 million. The public needs to keep all eyes open to see which other revenue lines will be diverted to this socalled project. $127 million and counting...now this. This is precisely why the contracts are not centralized in City Hall so that where money goes, and who gets money cannot be tracked by the council or the public.

  2. What KC needs is ethics reform that includes provisions for criminal prosecution. Maybe the State Legislature would take the issue up.

  5. Just like the Energizer Bunny...it keeps going and going and going! Prove your viability. Results is what is asked of you. Not hit it and quit it. Can't throw in the towel now. Fighting hurt? Who isn't these days. We want more than a good show. No boondocks circuit. Go big.
