I lived in Europe for a few years and there were many houses where the lawns were completely different colors of gravel, rock and even shells. It actually looked very nice. However, here in the backasswards USA anything that doesn't look like it needs a layer of cow shit on it gets Gladis Kravits and the neighborhood association shit heels all excited.
ReplyDelete1056 totally hear what you are saying about non grass based front yards. If you go to Phoenix or the dryer parts of Cali you will see similar setups.
ReplyDeleteThe problem was that this house didn't do that. They just dumped a big ass load of sand on top of the grass and didn't even have a way to prevent the inevitable erosion.
The house is in a great location on Meyer Blvd and they should be able to sell it to someone who will properly take care of it.
They should be able to landscape as they want!

ReplyDeleteI liked this house because whenever I came back from the Brooksider full of Chicken Tendies and Craft Brews I could always take a curler in their delicately sloped front yard, then just bury it over.

ReplyDeleteWhat Sliar and the Toy Train Death Squad of Terror and BAAAAAAD stuff won't let the dead tree media report is that this sand was dumped on Brookside to punish them for the Brookside Revolution of 2014, which lead to Mayor Sliar only winning 80% of the vote in Brookside. Remember when he asked Marsha Lerenburg to quit interrupting him after she yelled over him for 5 minutes? What a fucking fascist! It's just like what Hitler did to the Jews!
