CHILD HIT IN QUADRUPLE SHOOTING THAT COUNTS KANSAS CITY HOMICIDE #68!!!

The homicide count remains at record highs for this time of year after a spate of gunfire tonight.

Check the roundup of the shooting near an East Side fast food place:

Shooting at Prospect and Gregory leaves 3 injured, 1 dead
1 dead, 3 wounded in shooting in east KC
One dead, three injured in Kansas City shooting
Remember that there were only 54 murders at this point last year and 45 in the (election) year before that and when authorities bragged about progress in the fight against local violence that now seems worse than ever.

  1. more murder in kansas city and the streetcar bunch are more concerned with their choo-choo.

  2. Here's the problem with simply counting off the murders, it doesn't make it clear to people that there is real pain and suffering behind these numbers. Instead, it would be better to wait awhile and show the names and faces of the victims so that people can see this violence is taking it's toll on all of Kansas City.

The murder rate needs to slow down now but simply counting off the numbers might not be the way to do it. Not everybody is a blogger obsessed with city stats.

  5. All we hear about is how many people are killed. I'd be curious to know how many are shot and survive; talk about a number that would be mind-numbing, along with the amount spent on their recoveries and upkeep post shooting.

  6. Another body and another baby shot. How does Forte' address it? He throws a Twitter tantrum when put on the spot about community murders. He's an abject failure, and it's time we all realize he's not who we thought he was. If you don't care what people's opinion is of you then it's time to go. Don't let the door hit you in the ass mister.

  7. KC is home to murder and there is very little we can do about it but move. That is the reality.

  8. Forte is a failure and needs to go. The Toy Train needs to be turned over to Worlds of Fun if even they will take it and use that money wasted every day running that joke of transportation to place more officers back out on the streets.

Only a strong showing of officers doing real police work with a bad ass prosecutor is going to clean this mess up.

  9. This all starts at home. Until these hoodrat parents teach their kids respect for others and themselves, nothing will change.

  13. shootings near a fried chicken joint on the east side? Shiiiiiiiiiit. Not enough mayors nights. Seriously, I admire the college try....but lets be serious here. That night just triggers violence. Try something new.

  14. Oh, and Why isnt Congressman Cleaver out leading a march? You want to talk about hands up dont shoot? WTF is this?

  15. Dont worry, folks! Things are safer than they've ever been. It's just your run of the mill variety coming from the Blenheim neighborhood. If it's not the neighborhood, its 6902 Prospect. More killings happen in that area and off felon freeway. So, it's just business as usual. With a black police chief, mayor, various city council people and a host of non-profits like KC Nova, Aim4Peace (of public dough), Ad Crock Group Agaimst Crayolas, etc., etc. - Things remain incredibly safe. Helmets dont prevent death by gunfire. Now back to your regularly scheduled propaganda, urban gunfights and stray bullets.

  20. A shooting at a fried chicken joint, does it get anymore stereotypical than that? Were any watermelon injured? Just black people being black. It's more surprising when a black person doesn't commit a crime. I et it was over something really important too. They were probably fighting over error who got the last strawberry soda.

  24. Race has nothing to do with Kansas City's epidemic of murder.

It's the fried animal products that is making it happen. Chicken, catfish, potatoes. All are to blame.

    Vegan lives matter.
