The homicide count remains at record highs for this time of year after a spate of gunfire tonight.

Remember that there were only 54 murders at this point last year and 45 in the (election) year before that and when authorities bragged about progress in the fight against local violence that now seems worse than ever.

ReplyDeleteHere's the problem with simply counting off the murders, it doesn't make it clear to people that there is real pain and suffering behind these numbers. Instead, it would be better to wait awhile and show the names and faces of the victims so that people can see this violence is taking it's toll on all of Kansas City.

ReplyDeleteAll we hear about is how many people are killed. I'd be curious to know how many are shot and survive; talk about a number that would be mind-numbing, along with the amount spent on their recoveries and upkeep post shooting.

ReplyDeleteForte is a failure and needs to go. The Toy Train needs to be turned over to Worlds of Fun if even they will take it and use that money wasted every day running that joke of transportation to place more officers back out on the streets.

More killings happen in that area and off felon freeway. So, it's just business as usual. With a black police chief, mayor, various city council people and a host of non-profits like KC Nova, Aim4Peace (of public dough), Ad Crock Group Agaimst Crayolas, etc., etc. - Things remain incredibly safe. Helmets dont prevent death by gunfire. Now back to your regularly scheduled propaganda, urban gunfights and stray bullets.
