TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! AMID MISSOURI SHERIFFS' ASSOCIATION INFIGHTING DOX REVEAL EFFORT TO OUST JACKSON COUNTY SHERIFF SHARP!!! READ THE REAX FROM COURTHOUSE LAWMAN!!!

In the context of an upcoming election, an important document has surfaced offering insight into more controversy surrounding Jackson County Sheriff Sharp.

First, a primer . . .

Jackson County Sheriff Sharp is running for reelection against Brice Stewart and some really nasty divorce documents have surfaced . . . Check this PERFECT summation by our favorite news weekly:

Pitch: It's stupid we vote for county sheriff

Now . . .

FIRST ON TKC, CHECK THIS MEMO FROM A TOP MISSOURI LAW ENFORCEMENT BODY ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE SHERIFF SHARP FROM THEIR RANKS!!!

First word ALWAYS belongs to the KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS:

"As you may or may not know Sheriff Mike Sharp serves as the Vice President of the Missouri Sheriff's Association. I have acquired this letter from the President of the organization to other Missouri Sheriffs.

"The letter asks for the removal of Mike Sharp from his position. His removal is asked for due to various detailed instances of his behavior."

READ THIS CONTROVERSIAL LETTER FIRST ON TKC BUT KEEP GOING FOR MORE CONTEXT!!!

Here's a brief summary of what's inside:

- Typical debate over expenses . . .

- Disagreement over Sheriff Sharp's stance on the potential legalization of marijuana

- Aftermath of a tumult betwixt Sheriffs and allegations about somebody touching somebody else's gun (ewww)

Here's the money line from the letter . . .

"As documented above, Sheriff Sharp has created conflict, tension and adversarial relations throughout the MSA. It is with much regret that I ask you to join with me to remove Sheriff Sharp from the Executive Board of the Missouri Sheriffs' Association as he has consistently demonstrated during the past year that he has put his own interests and wants before the interests and needs of the Sheriffs of Missouri whom he is to be representing."

Accordingly . . .

TKC believes this letter is more important than personal drama of a divorce case or so much election chatter because THIS DOCUMENT reveals reactions to Sheriff Sharp from colleagues in law enforcement.

But that's the not the whole story . . .

THE REALITY IS THAT INSIDERS TELL US THERE'S INFIGHTING FOR POLITICAL CONTROL OF THE MISSOURI SHERIFFS' ASSOCIATION AND SHERIFF SHARP IS ALSO RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT OF THAT ORGANIZATION AS PART OF A REFORM EFFORT!!!

In fact, the petition the letter asks fellow Sheriffs to join is in dispute as some them believed they were signing an attendance sheet and later declined participation.

The letter is dated in March and it's now July . . . Sheriff Sharp continues his service as 1st Vice President of the Missouri Sheriffs Association and the removal effort seemingly FAILED.

The author of the letter could not be reached for comment at the time of this writing and we'll include anything he has to say or write on this post . . .

However, TKC DID CONFIRM THE LETTER WITH SHERIFF SHARP and while he declined comment on any of the specifics regarding the document or the MSA, he did offer his perspective . . .

Jackson County Sheriff Sharp: "I'm not willing to get into a mudslinging contest with my opposition, I've got a Sheriff's Department to run and that's where my main efforts will be focused. I truly believe the Department has performed exceptionally under difficult circumstances over the past few years and that's what I'd like to talk about . . ."

And so, we believe this document, word from insiders on both sides of the issue and a brief conversation with Sheriff Sharp reveals this: There are a myriad of issues and interests confronting authorities during election season and it's important for voters to have at least some understanding of the internal debates among law enforcement in addition to increasing threats against these firstresponders during this violent Summer.

You decide . . .

  1. Gotta agree with the Pitch on this one. But moreover, it goes a long with looking at the governing structures of law enforcement and that's a discussion that most of us are unwilling to have.

  2. There is a lot more to this story but thanks for posting it Tk.

  3. Seems like police are fighting with each other as well as fighting with some of the public. NOT a good time to be a cop nowadays.

  4. The Sheriff's Office is a second rate agency at best, the poor pay, constant turnover, lack of any action, is typical Jackson County, once again people elected this clown, he is a carpet salesman with friends with money, a true politician, what the hell do you expect?

  5. this guy is a fucking NUT ..boy Jackson country can really pick em !!

  6. Just another case of the usual fifth-rate drama and intrigue in Jackson County and KCMO "politics".
Surely there must be at least a few residents out of the hundreds of thousands in Jackson County who might run for and serve in public office who have the interest and ability to actually perform the duties of the positions in service to the public.
    Anyone?

  7. The Sheriff doesn't really do anything in Jackson County anyway. The patrol unincorporated areas and do courthouse security. No jail, no process serving, no large community contracts for law enforcement services. Sounds like an easy job to me.

  15. Fuck those ass holes. That letter reads like a pack of pussy, power hungry PTA moms fighting for power. Who gives a damn what some powerless Sheriffs Association does or doesn't do? Fuck all of them. As an organization they have no more significance in running things than a pack of cubs scouts. Seriously, look over the list of complaints and if that doesn't equate to a bunch of pussys whining and moaning I'm a monkeys uncle. Are these ass clowns really law enforcement?

  16. ^^^^^^ Thanks for checking in, Mike.

  17. More oversight for all Sheriffs. Missouri house REPUBLICANS approved it. Now let's get it going in KC metro.

  19. So, the only POLICY issue that the Old Guard is pissed about is that Mike is SANE on the issue of pot decriminalization.

Many of those guys are dependent on the money and forfeitures that pot arrests bring in for them. Jackson County is not.

Of course, if you were to ask any of the others to rationally defend locking up fellow citizens over pot, none of them could.

Who cares about any domestic melodrama?

  20. sounds like mike sharp needs to smoke more weed and just mellow out
