Most of the ones who were career oriented became so disalusioned that they said the hell with it and got out
Same thing going on today with cops. They are asked to protect and serve you but instead you treat them like shit even though they deal with the scum you complain about having to live with
I don't blame them for wanting to leave because there comes a point where you just don't care anymore

I got a non-violent felony fourteen years ago .blew that dream right outta the water..I can't even own a gun ,to protect myself from the many predators my just here in KC ,but everywhere.love to go camping ,fishing out in remote places ,but I quit doing that sometime back,camping anyway. it's just not safe,and if I can't protect my family and myself,well then fuck it..it worth it to me..if is a viscous place to live and I gotta live in fear everyday and night..you get out in the country,off the beaten path and there's plenty of weirdos too..yup ,that felony sure did fuck up a lot of shit.

Its hard to see the other side of things when you look at things from your own perspective and fail to realize your perspective is not typical of others. That's the problem. Its like being a millionaire but putting everyone else down for only making $30,000 a year. If Im a millionaire, everybody under that must be lazy, good for nothing assholes that refuse to work. Let's focus on something equally important - support for those men and women who are actually out there on the front lines, the TRUE first responders, NOT the commanders sitting in their offices literally out of the line of fire. Most of them have forgotten where they came from and that they have made mistakes in the past. Morale is not what it should be and until the "leaders" within this organization honestly start giving a crap about their employees nothing will change. So sad because there ARE very good people who wear that uniform
