KANSAS CITY MURDERS #58 & #59: DEADLY STABBING & GUNFIRE AFTERMATH!!!

The quotient of violence continues to rise in Kansas City as we count two more murders that KEEP THIS TOWN TRENDING @ A 5-YEAR-HOMICIDE-HIGH for this point on the calendar.

Tonight's killing:

Kansas City police investigating deadly stabbing near 30th and College

Consequence of a shooting earlier in the week:

A Kansas City man injured in a shooting Thursday at 35th Street and Benton Boulevard has died, according to police.

And so the body count continues during this exceptionally violent Summer as the chattering class remains focused on politics.

  1. I thought the streetcar was going to take care of all of this? Right?

And didn't they say that the extension would make us even safer in Midtown. What happened to that promise? Is it from the same people who said that the P&L District would pay for itself?

  2. The mayor has called this slow-motion mass murder and on that point he is correct.

  3. Hey Tony,

    what race were the victims?

what likely race perpetrated the violence?

    care to venture a guess?

  6. Don't worry folks!! Things are safer than they've ever been in Kansas City. We have a black police chief, Mayor, third district city council persons and several ineffectual commissions, groups, organizations and hangers-on fighting crime in the big city. Having all these black faces in positions of authority and influence was intended to bring peace among blacks, curb violence and engage people where they are. Ever since these black political figures emerged, they've been self-promoting and absorbed. There's not one leader in the bunch, no matter how vast Quinton Lucas' vocabulary is. Not one has a clue how to stop the violence. Oh well, on to the next ribbon cutting and meaningless political endorsement. Now back to your regularly scheduled propaganda, urban gunfights and stray bullets. Don't forget to duck!!!!

  9. Add these two murders to the growing list of homicides now happening near the new East Patrol facility. The chickens are coming home to roost.

  10. No more senseless violence!
    I firmly believe this.
    Give understanding a chance!
    Goodness works for everyone.
    Everyone, I said.
    Really simple to solve.
    So much needless violence.

  13. There they are again, Benton Blvd and College, the MLK of Kansas City. Always in the news for the same thing, black people killing other black people.

  14. There is no leadership in the upper echelon of the KCPD. That is an unfortunate but very accurate fact. There are a handful of commanders who are fair-minded and continue to try and do the right thing and support the worker bees (officers/detectives/sergeants) but many times their efforts are overshadowed by others who only follow their own agendas of getting promoted, aligning themselves politically, etc. While any or all of this may or may not affect the crime rate (and the current very high murder rate) it certainly does not help the officers on the street, the detectives working those cases, and the supervisors trying to do their jobs AND handle piles of mostly unnecessary paperwork. Commanders need to stop hiding in their offices and start walking around and talking with their people to see what is really going on...to see what people need in order to do their jobs...to listen to what their people are saying. It won't happen - but it should. If they're not willing to put themselves out there for the greater good of the department they're not fit to lead...and it starts at the top.

  17. 8:47 is 100% correct . Unfortunately that is what happens when you promote people that have little time on the job and have never been a street cop. As a matter of fact , East Patrol has not had a real Major since Barry Mayer was the Major there. All followers are just that, followers not leaders

  18. KCPD has no leadership.

  20. What say you KC NOVA, Mothers in Charge, Aim 4 Peace, etc, etc??? Crickets, yep that's what I thought and what we've all come to expect from your "programs" and "philosophies". That's really too bad because as you all scramble to try and justify your existence, people are dying and suffering at the hands of violent offenders. Shameful and a waste of taxpayer's hard-earned money.
