The local murder count continues to skyrocket during a violent Summer locally and across the nation.
Civic unrest may or may not have led to the latest deadly shooting on a crowded highway this morning.

Our blog community reminds us that The Star has pretty much stopped counting Kansas City murders in any significant way.
Meanwhile, the running total is an important numbers to consider.
- This is unofficially the 53rd murder in Kansas City so far for 2016 compared to 38 at this time last year.
- Local media confirms more than a 37% increase in local murders for two years running.
- The KCPD Clearance Rate stands @ 44% which means that odds favor getting away with murder in Kansas City.

There is no indication I have seen that the "dude" was gunned down in traffic. He was found shot in a stopped vehicle. Earlier he was seen driving erratically. The entry wound was in his abdomen, which I would think is not a likely place to be shot while driving.
