Listen closely and hear that decent weather is ramping up illegal fireworks fun in Kansas City, Missouri right now. Already a local baby was hurt by a blast . . Meanwhile, the sound of explosions and popping reminds us that Kansas City has endured a tragic youngster gunfire trend over the past few years.
Shooting involving children have become commonplace in Kansas City . .. . Worse still, sometimes the toddlers are pulling the trigger.
Sadly, the response to all of this has been an effort to restrict the rights of lawful gun owners and take away 2nd Amendment freedoms. But taking guns away from people has never really lowered homicide and shooting rates, in the U.S. at least - Chicago is the most notorious example.
REMEMBER THAT THE LAST TWO MURDERS IN KANSAS CITY HAVE BEEN DEADLY STABBINGS!!!
And so, once again we're forced to contend with local political leadership more intent on limiting freedom on the 4th of July than actually working to curb violence.

ReplyDeleteI think we all understand that taking away guns has nothing to do with preventing crime. it's just a way to pacify the public and make sure they present not threat whatsoever to the people in charge.
