Brad Pitt FAILS To Fix Kansas City Blight!!!

Just a bit of follow-up on a lack of follow through from a Missouri-born celeb and the overall FAIL of a "repurposing" plan from the KCPS that mostly offers grand media announcements, a bit of construction subterfuge and then empty buildings that continue to blight local neighborhoods.

Take a look . . .

Fox News: Brad Pitt’s Make It Right Foundation is under fire after its promise to construct 50 new single-family homes in a Kansas City, Mo. neighborhood has yet to be started.

Deets:

The organization purchased six parcels of land in Manheim Park from Aug. 18, 2015 to Feb. 4, 2016, but construction hasn’t started. The foundation hasn’t explained why construction has yet to begin and top officials have all declined to comment on matter.

Tim Duggan, a local architect who was hired by the Make It Right Foundation as the lead director of innovations, no longer works for the company.

The organization appears to have experienced some turnover since its initiation in 2007. Its CEO, Tom Darden stepped down and the foundation's website has no current CEO listed.

Dianne Cleaver, executive director of the Urban Neighborhood Initiative that is tasked with rehabilitating Kansas City’s east side, acknowledged that the organization had experienced some changes.

Meanwhile, the legacy of the collapse of Kansas City Public Schools continues at the outset of a new school yer.

  1. City Hall could partner with KCPS to seek out grants and offer incentives for private development of the blighted empty schools. They could serve as hubs for vital services those communities need.

  4. Big companies, governments and non profits cannot do anything cost effective in housing. Individuals and small repair companies are the only ones who can fix up houses without spending much more than they are worth.

The toy train stole all the money from Brad Pitt! I have proof, it's a Facebook post from Sam Abadir that Marsha Lerenburg and Suzie Burke liked, so you know it's true.

  7. When has that man ever been to KC let alone in said blighted area? When has he ever helped his home state but fly over it? Grant money can be found. That isn't a problem. Filling out the actual paperwork...there's the issue. You can get it going. Then folks want to take over after the hard work and take credit and photos. Lip work. We're not Katrina worthy...
