All colleges have to track and report crime on campus. I wonder if anyone has compiled statistics of UMKC students victimized just off campus. I think the number of robberies, rapes and murders would be shocking.

It is so sad that this crime wave has hit our two universities. I attended Rockhurst in the 70's, and some of my night school classes lasted until after 10:00. Never a problem. It was a very quiet neighborhood, and I usually parked on the street a few blocks away. It wasn't the best of neighborhoods, but it was safe. Now if isn't even safe. So sad.

ReplyDeleteI'm sure the Hipsters secretly love all the crime; between the crime and the toy train, it gives them that large city ambiance they crave but are too insecure/poor/scared to relocate to.
ReplyDeleteWhat's really dangerous is that delicious GoChicknGo between the two campuses. The "freshman fifteen" is a sure bet. About those gizzards, it seems "...they put an addictive chemical in, and makes you crave it, fortnightly"-- (said Stuart Mackenzie to his son Charlie in the movie, So I Married An Axe Murderer/1993. Both roles were played by Mike Myers).

ReplyDeleteWhat a lame excuse. Most of the people committing these crimes wouldn't be able to keep a decent job even if they had one. Even if you don't like to hear it, most darkeys are completely worthless.
