TKC MUST READ!!! KANSAS CITY NORTHLAND NEEDS WORK TOO!!!

An insightful column from a community volunteer across the bridge hopes to earn more funds for his community amid an upcoming bond levy that the TKC blog community reported FIRST.

Take a look:

Northland News: "It’s Time to Modernize the First Annexed Neighborhoods of Kansas City"

Money line:

"As Kansas City prepares its list of projects to be included in the potential $1 billion General Obligation Bond (GO) we need to make sure our voice is heard. I’m a neighborhood guy, so when I heard that the project list was being complied I reached out to the councilmembers that represent the North Kansas City School District and provided a “wish list” of projects – about $65 million – that would dramatically modernize our older neighborhoods, while making sure our kiddos have safe routes to school (SRTS)."

Who in the hell in their right mind would invest in KCMO general obligation bonds?

Why should the core city subsidize building infrastructure in neighborhoods designed not to have things like safe routes to school? You built it for cars, you moved there to live in a car-centric "neighborhood". If you wanted to live in a place with sidewalks and streetlights, you shouldn't have moved North.

Jobs are not the problem, it's finding jobs that pay is the problem.

Knowing what I know about the people at City Hall, I wouldn't but people who work at City Hall sure would. It's kinda illegal but I wouldn't put it past them.
