The TKC Saturday Night Playlist!!! Fear Violent Kansas City Summertime Hot Spots!!!

In local media the Summertime is awash in useless guides to Kansas City events and places for tourists and adventurous souls without any real sense of what these locales have to offer beyond food and stuff people don't really need to buy.

Instead . . .

TAKE A LOOK AT OUR TKC QUICK LIST OF THE TOP LOCAL HOT SPOTS WHERE KANSAS CITY TRAVELERS MIGHT CONFRONT DANGER!!!

We post this as a helpful guide to keep people safe, a reminder that local media is mostly a pointless shopping guide and realization that this town is confronting a serious uptick in violence and murder.

Check the list:

Plaza - Like it or not there is a culture clash on the Country Club Plaza that Kansas City has yet to overcome. Significant police manpower has been dedicated to keep the peace in the area but car crime and some violent confrontations persist.

Hyde Park - This place is new violent teen flash mob hangout with youngsters attacking cars and passers-by . . . KC youth gangs have readjusted and the older, smarter ones know that roaming local neighborhoods is less likely to encounter curfew crackdown than gathering in entertainment districts. Authorities are doing their best to catch up to this change in strategy.

Southmoreland - Stretch this locale toward the QT on Main and locals simply confront trouble when venturing into this Museum district that is inundated with both hobos, teen gangs and a great many people with hot tempers. Things have become so violent that the neighborhood association has recently added a donation page to help with costs of additional security.

Latino Northeast - Last Summer the immigrant population contributed to Kansas City's homicide count and the influx of these urban core "dreamers" has seen a marked uptick in gang activity, drug crime and old school family beefs.

Downtown Bus Stops And/Or Loft/Condo Stairwells - Interesting juxtaposition here . . . Bus stops in downtown KCMO are a great place to witness the tragic lack of resources to confront mental illness in this nation . . . Meanwhile, the good life inside the loop is a nice attraction but denizens don't realize that creepers surrounding their hot, new dwellings have targeted the new gentry with rape and crime.

Again, all of this info that can be backed up by crime stats, various news stories and testimony of crime victims. Tonight we post the listing so that locals can be advised and informed about the reality of Kansas City life beyond hype and with the understanding that our cowtown confronts rising crime along with the rest of the nation amid a contentious election season and increased financial hardship.

And all of this inspires our playlist tonight . . .

As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe and fun Saturday Night.

  1. Notice that the north land isn't on the list. That might be a mistake. Some of those trailer parks can get pretty dicey.

again, TKC, you need to ask. Where does the Citizens talk force on violence stand on this issue?

If we're going to have a commission, we shouldn't have to wait a year for any progress or help to come from it.

People have lost interest in this and I notice that Jolie is far more willing to talk about the airport when rising crime in her district is a far more immediate and pressing problem.

  3. You forgot Ivanhoe neighborhoord: E 35th to 43rd from Prospect to Paseo. Three dead in that area alone in recent months. Two yesterday. One dismembered in the trash for God knows how long. Their association president or whatever she calls herself has been doing medis blitz and is on the City Plan Commission. She needs to redirect her attention to the carniage in the area that's under her control. It's not a good look.

  4. Here's a suggestion: Avoid living in or working in KC. Downtown KC might as well be downtown Berlin or Paris to me. A city occupied be foreigners if you will. It's very peaceful in Raytown tonight!

KC isn't such a bad place, if it wasn't for all the vampires.

  10. no need for the list ,tony . all of the smart people and even some dumb ones know where and where not to go, and that is anywhere after dark in all of kcmo, or anywhere there are negros ,or the chance of negros coming around..most of us have learned this from personal experince, others just have to read the news .its not rocket science.

  11. I would like to assure all future homeowners who are looking to buy or rent in Hyde Park, that this crime is west of Gillham, or on the Plaza. Our neighborhood ,and its association will hopefully be a shining example of all that is good.
We work very hard to keep the "element " out of our beloved neighborhood.
We are looking forward to bulldozing the Gillham Park pool ,it seems to attract the "element ".
Hyde Park will not tolerate bad behavior, and the "element " is the source.
We worked very hard to close Westport and the Middle schools down, and other businesses that attract the "element ".
I would also like to announce our neighborhood yard sale and Historic homes tour and festival.
We will have extra police patrols to encourage the "element " to keep moving.
This is an awesome neighborhood to live in,we work very hard to keep the "element " out .
Our neighborhood has come under scrutiny, simply because of our very privileged lifestyle.
We like to remind everyone our upcoming Hyde Park Historic Homes Tour is just around the corner.
This is an awesome chance see into our incredible homes, admire our exquisite taste and lifestyle.
