SHAME!!! GUNFIRE EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS FOR VIOLENT 4TH OF JULY WEEKEND!!! FIVE-YEAR HOMICIDE HIGH AS KANSAS CITY COUNTS 50 MURDERS SO FAR AMID BLOODY SUMMER 2016!!!

At this point on the calendar Kansas City has recorded more murders for 2016 than at any other time in the past five years.

To wit . . .

THE LATEST KILLING THIS MORNING BRINGS US HALFWAY TOWARD THE CENTURY MARK AND THE SUMMER HASN'T REALLY STARTED YET!!! JULY 4TH WEEKEND COULD BRING AN EPIC SHOOTOUT THIS TOWN HASN'T SEEN IN YEARS!!!

Whilst the newsies are talking about firecrackers and controlling flames . . . Our blog community is focused on preparedness and keeping Kansas City safe.

Let's do the tragic math once again . . .

- This morning was Kansas City homicide #50 compared to 36 at this time last year . . . The increase is quickly approaching 40% according to MSM.

- The clearance rate for homicides solved stands @ 43% this year meaning that the odds favor local killers getting away with murder.

- The number of shootings, property crime and violent assaults have also spiked along with more KCMO murder.

Gunfire hitting the bus this morning and a holiday weekend simply gives rise to more concern about public safety in the face of so much local violence.

We noted the murder this morning but here are more deets:

Northeast News: According to Police, people in two vehicles were exchanging gunfire near Fire Station 23 on the Avenue. When police responded to the area they located a Hispanic male in his 20’s and a Hispanic female in her 20’s inside a vehicle, both suffering from gunshot wounds.

KMBC: A man in his 20s died and a woman in his SUV was wounded in an apparent rolling gun battle, Kansas City police say.

Fox4: Officers responded to Independence Avenue and Van Brunt around 10:19 p.m. They found a man dead from apparent gunshot wounds behind the wheel of a car.

  6. A man who was shot and killed by Belleville police last week after officers say he fired at them was a member of the National Revolutionary Black Panther Party, organization officials said.

A St. Louis-area resident, Angelo Brown was also a national officer within the organization, and was the leader for the party in St. Louis. Members from across the country are planning a protest over the shooting, but haven’t set a date.

Brown, 35, was killed Thursday in an exchange of gunfire with police outside of an apartment complex, police said.

Belleville police were called to the first block of West Pheasantwood Drive for a disturbance before 10 p.m. When police arrived, Brown ran around the building with a gun, then fired at officers who chased him, police say. Two officers fired back at Brown, killing him, police say.
Dr. Alli Muhammad, founder of the Revolutionary Black Panther Party, said Brown — identified by the party under the name General Minister Houdari Juelani — was a U.S. Army veteran, a father of 13 children and a hard worker, but not a criminal.
