Kansas City Writers Place Presents 'Celebration Of Queerness' Coming Soon!!!

For the intellectuals among us . . . This might be one of the most important local literary events in Kansas City after a national tragedy. "Hosts for the evening are Charles Ferruzza and Wayne Courtois. The program will include music and a reading of memoir, poetry, fiction, and nonfiction from area writers."   7. I have no problem with Charles Ferruzza as he's made meaningful contributions to KC for a very long time now, but it seems like choosing to specifically celebrate "Queerness" (their language choice) is asking for controversy, push back, and trouble.

    It's similar to a straight man running for office who insists on posing with weapons in his ads to apparently demonstrate his machismo.
