KANSAS CITY STAR COLUMNIST CONDEMNS 'EVIL' NRA AND GUN INDUSTRY LEADERS TO HELL AFTER ORLANDO MAS SHOOTING MASSACRE!!! DID HE GO TOO FAR?!?!
Credit where it's due to this town's daily newspaper, reviewing some of the rhetoric and discourse over the past few days . . . A tweet from a Kansas City Star writer stands above the rest for its pure animosity and anger.
No less than 72 hours ago senior columnist from The Kansas City Star Yael Abouhalkah wrote:
"Dear God: Today I am so sickened by the evilness of the NRA and gun industry. May their leaders be plunged into ever-lasting hell. Amen"
It's not exactly nuanced or thoughtful commentary but earned a greater response than anything he has written in years.
Given that hindsight is 20/20 and we've yet to hear any local media criticism of this caustic bit of rhetoric . . .
DID THE KANSAS CITY STAR COLUMNIST GO TOO FAR WITH THIS PRAYER FOR ETERNAL DAMNATION . . . OR WAS IT A BAD SUNDAY JOKE IN ORDER TO COPE WITH A HORRIFIC TRAGEDY???
So far no explanation has been given for this brief tirade but while people talk about how how bloggers and Internets denizens in general are unprofessional, undisciplined and not credible . . . This note from a longtime local newsman stands out as a contradiction to the so-called standards, balance and quality that print media supports constantly tout.

Bad news. Many of the victims of the Orlando shooting had Hispanic surnames. That means Mary Sanchez will soon write a column claiming that the semi white, probably closet Christian shooter deliberately chose that club because he would be able to kill the most Latinos at that location. With Abouhalkah, on the other hand, it is hard to guess in advance whether he will write a diatribe about Brownback, a diatribe about guns or a diatribe about Brownback with a gun.
