CRITICS DEMAND DEETS FOR 18TH & VINE DEVELOPMENT BEFORE KANSAS CITY WASTES ANOTHER $27 MILLION!!!

The reality here is that even nearby residents are suspicious of a project that threatens waste even more money and could threaten what little hard fought progress that has already been accomplished.

Northeast News: Plan? What plan?

Money line:

The fact of the matter is this, there is no comprehensive and cohesive plan to prioritize and develop projects at 18th and Vine. Never has been, and to date there still isn’t one. Apparently the “plan” is to keep kicking the can down the proverbial financial road until someone starts asking for a strategic plan that covers the whole district.

Read the whole thing and you decide . . .

  1. Here are the "deets".

Set the fuckkin money on fire, it would make just as much sense.

  2. Debts better include a thorough review of contractors participating in this scam. Like if you can trace politicians to any of the contracting gigs. This project is ultimately somebody's idea of a retirement plan courtesy of the public. Nothing good will or can come from it. The place will still be mostly vacant in 5-10 years.

  3. This is a former Mayor's project designed only to dole out money to his friends and current political donors. There has never been a plan.....just people paid to plan over and over and over again, and people paid to pre-develop over and over and over again. The only real result the oversized lighted sign to call attention to all the tax money that has financed the lush lifestyles of persons who are not even residents of Kansas City, Missouri.

  4. Why 3rd District funding if 18th & Vine is a city-wide project?

  5. I don't know what the attraction is to the area? You can practically tour the whole place in under an hour. Once you have seen it, I don't know why you would come back any time soon.

  6. FINALLY !!!! People are questioning the insanity of dumping more money into the hole that's full of NOTHING!
Shut it down. It's already shuttered up, for the most part. It's already vacant for the most part.
Yes, I love Jazz music, but this area has been a joke, an embarrassment, and a failure since mayor cleveburg gave birth to it.

  7. The plan is to give Cleaver a lot of money for his buddies. He'll give us some state money back. You idiots stay out of this.
