CELEBRATE FATHER'S DAY TOP FIVE REVEALING KANSAS CITY IS A HORRIBLE PLACE TO RAISE A FAMILY!!!

So much Kansas City development and tax break hype is powered by the misguided, mistaken and deceptive notion that the younger generation is flocking to the urban core in search of the good life.

The reality is that not much has changed about the American dream and a vibrant multicultural city is mostly just a destination for a modicum of tourists and day trippers.

Economic reminder . . .

Wall Street Journal: Generation Y Prefers Suburban Home Over City Condo

And so, with respect of so much chatter about diversity, let's not forget that Fatherhood is the foundation of the family which is still the building block of civilization and community.

Accordingly . . .

FOR OUR TKC FATHER'S DAY TRIBUTE LET'S NOT FORGET THAT KANSAS CITY REMAINS A HORRIBLE PLACE FOR FAMILIES!!!

Check our math and realize that KC's stagnant population growth compared with surrounding suburbs confirms our conclusions.

Here's our list . . .

Papa's Won't Find Good Public Schools For Their Children In Kansas City Proper

The Kansas City Public School District is provisionally accredited and over the years the institution has seen a mass exodus of every demographic from within its ranks. Even worse, efforts to escape the district have been thwarted by politicos who fight desperately to cling to enrollment numbers tied to funding.

Rising Kansas City Crime And Murder Count Might Threaten The Old Man

Most Dads don't want their families living in a war zone and recent spikes in local violence and murder should be something that might give a local pappy a moment of pause.

Rampant Blight Plagues Paterfamilias

Good Dads are known for keeping up their lawns and maintaining their homes . . . While City Hall hopes that demolitions and home improvement programs can substitute for a man of the house - The Broken Windows Theory might have more to do with broken homes than anyone cares to realize.

Daddy Doesn't Like Corrupt KCMO Politics

During a public television debate a founding family member of Kansas City, Crosby Kemper said the streetcar vote was: "The single-most undemocratic election in Kansas City since the Pendergast era." Sadly, even more of these tragic votes are being proposed so that a small sect of development consultants can dictate taxes to families throughout the city.

Patriarchs Confront Constitutionally Protected 2nd Amendment Gun Rights Threatened By City Hall

A lot of Dads like their guns. Sadly, Kansas City political leadership has declared war on gun rights over the past few years and blamed the 2nd Amendment and its defenders for rising gun crime committed mostly by crooks and their illegal weapons. While the nanny state has proven ineffective at preventing violence, the affront to the principles set forth by the Founders isn't appreciated by any local father with a sense of history.

And so . . . For this reasons and so many more . . .

We wish our readers a Happy Father's Day for those brave souls still residing in this town.

  4. "Fatherhood is the foundation of the family..."

That's the dumbest thing I've ever read!!

Fathers are sperm donors only, & completely optional.

Most families would be better off without them.

  5. I came here to laugh at the hyperbole and quickly realized that everything Tony highlights in this entry is true. I hope our next Mayor runs on a platform with a promise to address all of these issues above anything else.

  6. "...the affront to the principles set forth by the Founders isn't appreciated by any local father with a sense of history."

People pick & chose which part of the Constitution is important to them, just like the Bible.

Guns nuts ARE NOT defenders of the Constitution, but the enemy of the people.

  9. Tony! Your first mistake is thinking these coons will even admit they are fathers. With 80 percent of them born as bastards the chances of anyone in the family unit taking a responsible leadership role or passing values on tho their children is near zero. If we want to break the crime cycle, abortion cycle, entitlements cycle and actually see the race contribute to society it will take a government that gets off its collective ass and identifies fathers, holds them accountable for the behaviors of their juveniles and demand they meet the basic standards of anyone wishing to be included in a civil society. Until we stop pandering and start requiring American is fucked to hell and back.

  17. Rising drunkenness also seems to be a problem in KCMO - DWIs & public fighting & weird behavior. Incident on Plaza this morning at 5 am at Zocalo. White male detained by Plaza Security and KCPD on Zocalo patio. Appears he had no money or id or shoes and was "sleeping it off on the patio". he was allowed to leave about 6:30 am by taxi. Someone should request the Plaza incident report.

  19. City city proper means in Kansas City city limits. The largest school district in Kansas City, missouri is the nkc district not the limo district.

  22. 90% of all mass shootings were committed by democrats. We obviously need to ban democrats.

  23. That why they don't want to ban guns from people with mental problems.
