TKC EXCLUSIVE AND BREAKING NEWS!!! CONSULTANTS AND SOCIAL MEDIA DWEEBS SPAM #NEWKCI IN HOPES OF GENERATING FAKE BUZZ FOR THE FAILED KANSAS CITY SINGLE-TERMINAL AIRPORT SCHEME!!!

It seems that very real complaints and controversy over long airport lines in bigger, better cities have now provided an opportunity for a bit of Kansas City social media rhetoric disguised as grassroots sentiment.

To wit . . .

TKC FACT CHECK: MOST OF THE DWEETS POSTING CROPPED AND PHONY PIX OF KANSAS CITY AIRPORT LINES ARE WORKING WITH CONSULTANTS ATTEMPTING TO GENERATE FAKE BUZZ AGAINST MCI!!!

Don't take TKC's word for it . . . Do the math, look at most of the accounts for the the "NewKCI" hashtag and see a lot of former media people, brand new twitter fakers, engineering firm workers and consultants laboring as shills on the doomed and abandoned project.

But even a few of the real complains only reveal lines that don't really look so bad . . . In Chicago the TSA airport lines were outside the terminal and stretched nearly a mile long. By contrast, a line even a couple dozen deep in Kansas City simply doesn't compare to the disaster at other airports.

Once again, Kansas City social media denizens attempt to compare their lives to much nicer metropolitan areas and FAIL. This envious and self-hating posture is much older than social media but reminds us of the inherent Kansas City inferiority complex which ignores all the great things about this town that have nothing to do with the will of minor league politicos and corporate overlords.

But here's the kicker and something that these fake complainers can't answer . . .

THE CONVENIENCE OF KCI ISN'T ABOUT FLYING . . . IT'S THE MCI ROUNDABOUT DESIGN THAT ALLOWS KANSAS CITY RESIDENTS TO DROP-OFF THEIR PAIN-IN-THE-A$$ GUESTS WITHOUT HAVING TO DEAL WITH THE AIRPORT THAT STAYS WINNING!!!

Cropped shots of long lines that really aren't that long do not convince . . . Instead, what's clear is that the consultant and troll class continue to push for a new airport and aren't afraid to piggy-back on a right-wing news meme in order to get their way. This bit of sophism is especially troubling given that most of these folks are liberals and Democratic Party elite who wouldn't otherwise challenge the Obama Administration and its TSA.

Sadly, getting paid to spam comments is more commonplace in Kansas City as development dweebs grow more desperate given the Mayor's fading popularity and so many other setbacks confronting his agenda.

You decide . . .

  1. In the beginning, we thought that Sly was going to be different from Funkhouser. But it seems like his supporters are paying people to comment, tweet and facebook just like the former Mayor. That's the real story you need to post TKC.

  2. Hey now, Rainn Wilson make fun of our airport three years ago and that's the reason why we need to spend a billion dollars.

  3. DO NOT let Sly and the gang take on any new building project!

They are clearly out of their league.

  4. The legendary Todd Barry clowned our airport in his routine a while back.

  5. look, even the star had a large, front-page article on kci's advantages for travelers today. any propaganda campaign for a single terminal will be a non-starter right now. they should have waited until the lines at single terminal airports were gone and fading from memories (assuming that happens).

if there is indeed a propaganda campaign underway, it's one more illustration of people in power in this country being out of touch.

  6. Our new aviation director continues to push for the single terminal. We had hoped he would be open to the remodel plans but it doesn't appear to be that way! Supposedly he made a "single terminal" presentation to the Plate County EDC last week! He has the opportunity to be a hero. Is he smart enough to take it????

  7. The real problem isn't sly or anyone else in government. The problem is the coons, who pay no tax, and cronies that will vote for whatever while the average working stiffs and peckerwoods sit on their asses and not vote. The next thing you know we will be building a 3 billion dollar airplane shack on the tax payer dollar. Until the citizens of KC stop sitting on their asses pissing and moaning the pattern will never change. What politician wouldn't just love a blank check from a pack of numb nuts.

  8. @9:41am
The new "aviation director" is a former KCMO public works employee with NO expertise or experience whatsoever with airport facilities or operations.
He, unsurprisingly, does exactly what he's told.
You have to hope that KCMO government doesn't decide to make believe it can build and operate a nuclear power plant!
    Amateurs playing with YOUR money.

  11. Uh oh, looks like Chris "Toughnuts" Kyle lied about his medals of honor.

    Whoopsie.

  12. Everybody talks about lines which, admittedly, are an issue and the convenience of dropping people off. Let's not forget about the convenience of finding your luggage after a long flight home. KCI is not like other airports where you have to walk for seemingly miles and then figure out which luggage return is the one you need.

  13. Simple, send the council people on trips to various cities. Let them experience other airports and learn to not fix what isn't broke.

  14. You can drop passengers off at the ticketing area of every airport in America, you fucking dolt.

    ReplyDelete
  15. You know what else you can do at every other airport in America?

Go there without having to pack a sack lunch, and take a shit before you get on the airplane.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Is that the best you can do? You're not paid enough.

  17. bathroom inadequacy is part of the strategy to persuade the public as to the need for a brand new airport. surely, it's a problem that could have been remediated for $25 million quickly were the bathrooms not made part of the propaganda campaign.

  18. I've seen the help. There are those who want a job and those who get it.

  19. Since you wont see a headline on TKC:

TRUMP JUST SEWED UP THE GOP NOMINATION PASSING 1237 DELEGATES.

    Man What a loser!!!!!!!!

  20. Passengers pay an FAA fee with each ticket. So if we don't use it here, it goes to another city.

If you have the same number of check points but together, what is the difference? So when one airline has multiple flights leaving at the same time and maybe other airlines only have one flight but still have to have a check point wouldn't that speed up checking in?

    1. Those FAA funds are not available for terminal projects.

  21. In Killer City, the fix is in. Always.

  22. Epic fail for those who put together the campaign for a single terminal. They did not describe ANY benefits of a single-terminal other than more bathrooms, restaurants, and some nice and shiny things.

This would have been an easy sell if they had publicized more direct flights, fewer lost bags, cheaper tickets, more convenience, etc. They couldn't do that because the single-terminal plan didn't offer any of these benefits. No airlines guaranteed more direct flights. Ticket prices would go up. No greater convenience.

  23. Used to fly in and out every week. Bathrooms are fine. Luggage recovery better than most other airports.
