The war is being viciously waged amid a slew of hype and celebration but the signs of open hostility against automobiles are clear.
First . . .
TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! MAIN STREET SHUT DOWN FOR THE STREETCAR DEBT CONFIRMS CITY HALL RAGE AGAINST CARS!!!
We warned against this DESPICABLE plan earlier this year and now it's a reality inside the loop starting tomorrow . . .
"Main Street will be closed to thru traffic between 20th Street and Pershing Road starting Thursday, but parking at Union Station and Crown Center still will be accessible. Buses will be routed around the closure. Normal traffic will resume on Sunday.
"The Kansas City Streetcar Authority Inc. reminds streetcar event-goers that they should not expect to ride the entire route continuously due to large crowds throughout the weekend. They encourage guests to exit at stops along the way to explore neighborhood activities, businesses and shops."
