TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY EARLY POLLING SEYZ FREQUENT VOTERS OBJECT TO UPCOMING INFRASTRUCTURE BOND ISSUE!!!

This afternoon there's news spreading like wildfire among Kansas City Insiders who are desperate for cash amid talk of upcoming economic harsh times confronting all Americans.

To wit . . .

EARLY POLLING OF FREQUENT VOTERS REVEALS AN ONGOING KANSAS CITY TAX REBELLION FROM RESIDENTS WEARY OF RISING LEVIES & FEES!!!

To be fair, this is the only weak spot in the poll that overall noted high approval for the tax that would be used to fund water infrastructure, roads and several other worthwhile projects.

Still . . . While the e-tax campaign effectively used fear to influence voters . . . Promises that more tax cash won't just be handed over to developers will be a tougher sell given the record of the current administration.

You decide . . .

  1. Tk. Don't you know that early polling is just an advertisement for more polling.

While I don't doubt that people tired of paying high taxes all the time. Those folks are simply leaving Kansas City. They know that they're outnumbered and KC is simply pricing itself out of existence.

  2. Sounds like another translational tax in the making.

Forget it, Sly has gone to the piggy bank one to many times.

  3. It might actually have a chance if the elected tried to factually explain to the public how the money would be spent.
But, as usual, they'll spend big bucks from the construction.engineering companies who will most benefit from spending the money on infrastructure, and hire hacks like Glorioso and probably Rowe to lie to, trick, and try to scare the public into voting for it.
In either case, with the typical KCMO voter turnout of very low double figures, it's still likely to pass.
And yet another big pot of unaccountable money will have been created for Sly and the gang to work their "recognizing an emergency" magic on.
    A city that works.
    Just not for you.

  4. Yep, people are "simply leaving Kansas City" because they are so tired of the high taxes (which are lower than they are in JoCo)...

Except KCMO added 15,600 resident in the last 5 years.

A city that works, just not for Tony's Kiddie Crybabies.

  5. Downtown to Plaza streetcar poll in the TDD came back a couple weeks ago, but for some reason 'Toy Train Tony' doesn't want to share it with his anti-city trolls...

  6. 3:56 People get what they pay for in JoCo. Safety, good schools, good roads. KcMo has none of that.

  7. "in the TDD" being the key phrase in that statement.

How would an expansion do in a citywide vote?

  8. Included in the bond issue will be funds for police cars, fire trucks, computers, office furniture etc. Stuff that will only last a few years but will be paid for over 20 years. Just another way to borrow money for current operations that will be paid for with increased taxes.

  9. oh we insiders constantly gossip about infrastructure!!! rumors about big civil projects and taxing district spread like WILDFIRE!!!

of course, I'm kidding. We actually don't. Which is why we think Tony is so fucking pointless and stupid but you all react as though Hitler was walking down the street.

  11. If I remember correctly, when the Mayor was first elected, there was a big tax push the following year to cover infrastructure, water and sewer and a whole host of other things like the forever tax at the zoo. I will absolutely object unless this bond issue is supported. Tony, you need to check the facts - there's been several tax initiatives brought under Sly and some of them seem to overlap... if my memory serves me correctly.

  12. Taxpayers are sick (now angry) of feeding Sly and crews cravings like a French foie gras farmer cramming eight pounds of maize down a goose's gullet every day.

  15. I will not support this as long as Troy Schulte is city manager.
