Kansas City Payday Loan Hearing This Week



The struggle against high-interest loans aimed at low income denizens continues in Kansas City this week for locals who have a tough time calculating interest or using common sense when asking for cash in a hurry.

Here's a reminder about an upcoming jam session wherein just about everybody will remind cash-strapped people to be careful when borrowing in order to avoid being broke and blaming other people in order to provide media entertainment and yet another teachable moment . . .

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau- Field Hearing in Kansas City, MO

Join us for a field hearing in Kansas City, MO about small dollar lending. The hearing will take place on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 10 a.m. CDT. The location will be the Kansas City Convention Center (Municipal Auditorium Complex Music Hall, 301 West 13th Street, Kansas City, MO 64105).

The hearing will feature remarks from CFPB Director Richard Cordray, as well as testimony from consumer groups, industry representatives, and members of the public.

  5. a new charity or churches need to revive the monts de piete concept and have emergency cash loans similar to payday lenders.....but at a non-usurious interest rate and maybe some financial education.

  6. Yeah they should give these poor people regular credit cards that charge 25 percent interest and $35.00 on a late payment. States used to have laws preventing this shit, but the Federal Courts said they could not regulate credit. So now we have gone out and hired thousands of bureaucrats to protect us from the rules the Federal Government has put in place. Go figure.
