As the streetcar is set to debut, check out City Hall talking points disseminated far and wide and in direct contradiction to at least half a dozen vacant store fronts along the fake transit line. Take a look: Streetcar sparks development along downtown line

None of these businesses will last a year.
ReplyDeleteTake away the streetcar the development continues. Take away the tax breaks the development stops. So much for sparking.
ReplyDeleteWhatever it is they are smoking down at city hall i sure wish it was legal.
ReplyDeleteIt's called Jenkem
DeleteThose people buying or renting apartments in high rises have no clue how awful they can be. They'll soon find out when they try and bring bags of groceries, furniture, pets, kids, contractors for interior work and more into an elevator lifestyle. Been there, done it. Never again.
ReplyDeletewhat will happen when section 8 renters start getting rent incresaes?
ReplyDeleteIt's both amazing and embarrassing how the local media is falling all over themselves peddling the over-the-top hype and crap from city hall and the development crowd.
ReplyDeleteAny town that would like to think of itself as a serious city has to have much better than bush league television readers and a newspaper much more serious and professional than the pitiful Star.
KCMO is all hat and no cattle.
Well, actually not much else other than cattle.
Mooooo!
Still hung up on the denial stage of loss, Tony?
ReplyDeleteWell, you can always pull at the treads of (fill in the blank) and bitch on a blog.
Wait.
I just described Tony's KC.
IF I POST IN ALL CAPS, WILL IT BE MORE EFFECTIVE?
It sparked my interest in staying far away from anything within two blocks of the choo-choo. Parking and traffic nightmares with excessive fines after the choo choo has been ramrodded down the throats of unwilling participants...that is taxpayers. Here comes David Johnson with his idea that only a small portion of people are paying for the two-mile jolly trolley in 5, 4, 3, 2...
ReplyDeleteMeh, like anything else, time will tell. Even though KCMO is being run by a bunch of libs, there's still a chance to make something of this. America is a capitalist country and only the real left wingers would rather have us live in caves than build anything.
ReplyDeleteFrom reading TKC's header, it sounds like he thinks Mike Mahoney is full of shit. TKC must hate Mike Mahoney
ReplyDeleteAdults agree to disagree, 6:19. Hate isn't a healthy obsession, look at KC's crime rates.
ReplyDeleteNothing screams Kansas City is awesome to those riding the streetcar more than a shady-as-fuck shyster auto "repair" shop such as Calverts on Main.
ReplyDeleteMike Moostakis is an asshole in real life.
