CHECK KANSAS CITY'S GREATEST YOUNG MUSICIAN KEMET COLEMAN LAUNCHING A COLLABO VIDEO WITH THE STREETCAR TEAM!!!

Lots of mixed feelings about this one . . . Without question Mr. Coleman is one of the most talented, prolific and best people working on creative projects in the entire Kansas City metro. No matter what happens with the KC streetcar, this collaboration shows that at least these folks are trying their heart out by way of recruiting KC's best and brightest.

At the end of the day, nothing happens in the good old U.S. Of A. without making a sale and this song and dance number is enough to get the attention of even the most critical streetcar skeptic - TKC.

Take a look at the clip:

Kansas City Rap Artist, Kemet the Phantom and RideKC Streetcar have Released a new Music Video

Kansas City, MO - April 25, 2016. Kemet the Phantom otherwise known as Kemet Coleman, in collaboration with RideKC Streetcar have released a music video on YouTube for the newly released song, Get Out, which includes exclusive footage of the inside of the Kansas City Streetcar in motion.

The unprecedented partnership delivers a very timely and fun offering given the public anticipation and excitement for the grand opening of the Streetcar in Kansas City which is set to go public May 6, 2016.

The music video, directed by Kansas City based film director Brandon Bender and filmed entirely inside one of the Kansas City streetcars while in motion on Main Street, provides a fresh, new perspective of Kansas City that has yet to be experienced.

"As a supporter and user of public transit in Kansas City, I felt compelled to create an experiential song about an imaginary rider who would use the streetcar to get to his various destinations," Kemet Coleman explains.

The Song Get Out by Kemet the Phantom is available worldwide on iTunes, Apple Music, Google Play Music and many more online music outlets.

  1. GREAT work Kemet.

Forget the idiot haters on this blog. Even Tony had to give you respect on this one. A theme-song for the streetcar is a great idea and this shows that people really are excited about the project.

    Nicely done.

  2. Did Mayor James make a cameo? He is known for his dancing skills.

  3. The video is fine but did you see the inside of the streetcar?

It's smaller than what we've seen in some of the drawings.

That's the real story here Tk, not much capacity on the streetcar to really move people. At millions a pop, I thought we would have got something more substantial for our money.

  4. was this paid for by KC?

    ReplyDelete
  5. @2:03 - That's a good question. The musician said it was a collaboration so does that mean we paid for it? I understand the need for the promotional cartoons to explain safety issues simply but KC should not be in the business of funding music videos.

  21. The last time this kid was featured here, he was attempting to capitalize on the Royals World Series win. This time he's doing it with the "anticipated" ToyTrain....haha!

For some reason, TKC likes to play host for this boy-man's silly games, as he's appeared on this blog a good six times or so. What's up with that?

Of course, what's not disclosed, and not remembered by the masses with attention-deficit disorder, is that Kemet Coleman was half of the former duo with Mayor James' son. You know, the one who was arrested multiple times and went to rehab. In fact, I believe Kemet Coleman may have even lived for a time in the James household.

So, this video, while not totally stinking, is nothing more than a silly publicity stunt featuring a young man who's so desperate for attention that he'll masturbate in public and call it art!

Has he begged to do one for the renovated/new airport yet? Hahaha

  22. Typical Obama libtard voters in the stupid ass rap vid. Black politicians will take your money and wast it on crap.

  23. The lyric is "Fine ladies and the peeps are". I never say the N word in any of my lyrics. I also don't say it in real life. So much so that I am uncomfortable even typing it. Also, the city did not pay me to do this. They were generous enough to allow me to shoot my music video on the streetcar.

  29. Rapper Rick Ross visited the White House on Friday as an ambassador for President Obama’s black and Latino youth program — and his court-ordered ankle monitor reportedly went off shortly after the president concluded a speech.

According to the Associated Press, the “Hood Billionaire” rapper joined fellow artists Alicia Keys, Common, Nicki Minaj, Busta Rhymes, Janelle Monae, Ludacris, Chance the Rapper and others at the White House on Friday, where the group met with the president to discuss the administration’s “My Brother’s Keeper” initiative, which focuses on empowering black and Latino youth.

But according to TMZ, Ross’s ankle monitor, which he must wear as a condition of his release on kidnapping and assault charges last summer, beeped loudly shortly after the president concluded a speech.

Ross was arrested in June 2015 on kidnapping, aggravated assault and aggravated battery charges after allegedly pistol-whipping a man who had been doing repair work on his house. The kidnapping charge was added after it was alleged that the man was physically prevented from leaving Ross’ house.

nothing wrong with the song or the vid.i found it to be refreshing and the music and message was positive

sorry ,fellow haters, you're barking up the wrong tree this time.

  34. I liked the video. It was fun and it's a nice tune. One of the commenters was correct, no need to be so serious all the time.

  35. Wow, Kansas City, I've been gone a few years and was really hoping for your progression not regression. Sometimes life is a disappointment. Like when you realize hating someone for their race really only hurts you in the end, or when you realize this MAN no matter what his outside appearance is a loving friend, father and husband and has done more to rejuvenate Kansas City then you ever will. Must be a jealousy thing, I guess. The fact you use your energy to spew such hate isn't just sad, it's pathetic and the fact you are too ashamed of your own words to even attach your first name is further proof you shouldn't be saying it. I hope you meet Kemet one day, he'll probably be the guy holding the door for the person behind him or giving a positive message to someone who needs it, and Kemet, I would just like to say, I hope that's how you win. Never let some insecure jerk bring you down let those haters motivate and rise to your potential, you're doing a great job so far. As for the nasty white people I'm depressed to admit I share heritage with...please go dig yourself a shallow grave next to your racist ancestors and drop dead in it, you're not doing any good here.

    1. ^^ YES.
It's so incredibly disappointing to share such a beautiful city with these Internet trolls. These people get their rocks off by hiding behind a computer screen with an anonymous name saying such negative and racist things that they would NEVER say to a black persons face. This behavior is filth. Kemet is a positive, talented, and progressive.
Lol @ your tax dollar worries. That doesn't even make sense.
Here's a thought, use your free Internet trolling time to give back to the community instead of saying negative things is such a cowardly way. That's not a hobby, you're pathetic.
Feel free to join the rest of us in 2016!

LOL... no Kemit YouTube videos are going to change that fact.

    ReplyDelete
  39. AND ALL THOSE WHO CHIMED IN TO SUPPORT KEMET FAILED TO ADDRESS THE MAIN CRITICISM...namely that this video, just like his last featured here (KC Royals) was a blatant attempt to steal the spotlight from something making the news.

Michelene Khalid at 9:46PM comment should be asking Kemet why he featured a pretty white girl in the video. Is it because this wannabe rapper perpetuates the stereotype that a young black man with a white woman is success? Funny Ms. Khalid, but I didn't see any black women in that video!

It's quite apparent to all with their eyes open, that Kemet Coleman is voluntarily pimping himself for Mayor James' streetcar dreams.

I'll start paying attention when Mr. Coleman can drop the silly props (hat, senseless "phantom" moniker, posing/dancing, etc.), stand still, and sing a song under his given name. Otherwise, he's just a silly kid playing charades.

  43. The song was AWESOME. Those who hate it are all about racism and b.s., the fact is it's a great tune and it's very upbeat about Kansas City. There's nothing wrong with that an in fact Kemet Coleman deserves a lot of credit for showing how fun our city can be.
