Kansas Hates Drone Tech

Here's a quick update revealing the other side of the silicon prairie is slow to embrace that latest trend for rich kids and startups . . . Same difference: "The Federal Aviation Administration has approved 24 Kansas businesses to fly drones. The Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International says its analysis of more than 3,000 exemptions nationwide found that of states bordering Kansas, only Nebraska, with 17, has fewer exemptions." 1. Meanwhile Congress is voting to outlaw any homebuilt model airplane sighting that it wasn't professionally made by an FAA certified manufacture. This applies to any craft weighing more then half a pound and includes those that are physically linked to a person on the ground (known as control line) that cannot physically get more then 70 feet from the pilot.
However, the Phantom drone, the most popular law bringer and scurge of the modeling community because its all the little rich boys who buy one and fly it over airports, crowds and other places where an accident would and has caused physical harm, are AOK.
What a wonderful world we are living in. Guess I'll switch my hobbys to guns while they are still legal.

  3. Did you mean to say "silicone prairie?" Because that's what they put into breast implants.

And that's a pretty valid statement.

But "silicon" is what goes into chips...and drones...and technology.

Just a thought. Maybe you really meant to say "silicone," but maybe you were just looking at all those boob pictures while thinking about tech.
