TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY INSIDERS FEAR MAYOR SLY ISN'T POPULAR ENOUGH TO PASS UPCOMING EARNINGS TAX RENEWAL ON HIS OWN!!!

Supporters of the earnings tax swear up and down that Mayor Sly is still the most popular politico in Kansas City among voters and so many people looking to claim a minority friend in Johnson County. Reality speaks to the contrary.

Now, the newspaper and other Earning Tax consultants on the payroll are running scared and even attempting to counter our blog community point by point.

Example . . .

Our blog community has the Dead Tree Media editorial board running scared with a post we filed earlier today. Don't believe us? Take a look:

Kansas City Star: Don’t buy ‘solutions’ from critics trying to kill Kansas City’s earnings tax

By the way, the "solution" for City Hall is simple.

Doing more with less is the same compromise that so many broke-ass Kansas City residents are forced to confront. Strange that only politicos and newsies can't understand this fact.

But I digress . . .

Here's the point . . .

KANSAS CITY INSIDERS REVEAL THAT THEY'RE WORRIED ABOUT THE MAYOR'S FADING POPULARITY AND INABILITY TO CONVINCE VOTERS TO APPROVE MORE TAXES!!!

Evidence . . .

- Mayor Sly was SHUT DOWN on streetcar expansion and the results still sting toy train streetcar supporters.

- The Mayor's charm didn't convince BNIM to keep their TIF plans moving in the face of voter outcry.

- The Council and many civic activist notice that Mayor Sly has become increasingly combative, uncompromising and quick to anger in his discussions of his pet projects falling apart.

- TKC reminds readers . . . Mayor Sly's "overwhelming" reelection victory came amid HISTORICALLY LOW KANSAS CITY VOTER TURNOUT. Most voters didn't want any part of Mayor Sly's administration despite the fact that so many local lawyers actively discouraged any competition against their favorite corporate crony.

And all this is simply a way to acknowledge something simple . . .

Voters tend to dislike taxes and/or the politicos who are constantly pushing them.

This Question 1 play is one of at least a dozen tax increases Mayor Sly has touted since taking office.

You decide . . .

Comments

  1. That is a lot of bluster but you will see.

We will pass the earnings tax on April 5th, 2016.

  2. Tired of hearing this fat fuck talk. Asked some friends who are fire and one that is a cop. All 4 told me that their unions weren't pushing the tax. If they aren't supporting it I don't see why I would vote for it.

  3. It has never been about doing more with less. It has been a situation where people are paying with no representation. The city is excessively wastefull and the track records of pet projects while ignoring even the most basic of infrastructure leave no doubt KC is a coon ran operation.

    FUCK NO TO E TAX

  4. Here's my idea for a good slogan that will work with urban core voters.

You white devils might not know the reference but it rings true,

"Vote NO on the E-tax April 5th. Get your hand out of my pocket!"

Learn it, print it, love it.

  6. On this WEDNESDAY FEB. 10 we're happy to report the following results:

    TKC = +1

KC STAR Editorial Board = 0

Chalk up yet another WIN for TKC (and awesome blog community) despite being out-spent and out-manned. Exactly what is it they do over there at the Falling Star?

  7. Turn a profit, evidently.

But TKC has the market cornered on whitems supremacist commentary, so he's got that going for him, right?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Is that why you're here tonight?

I don't like everything TKC publishes but I hate the E-tax even worse.

    Vote no.

  9. That's why I'm here, nigger! Niggers murdering White women? Get used to it; that's our present, and will only get worse in our future - White men are, for the most part, effeminate wimps who can't even defend their females. Niggs are killing them, raping them, breeding with them... destroying the Whites they can get their paws on.

And we stand by and watch...trembling in fear in case anyone hears us speak about the demonic shit-apes in anything other than glowing terms.

Historians are going to have a field day with our era of nigger worship.

  10. Tony's great. He will fall on the wrong side of this issue as well.

It will not even be close.

An unemployed Mexican with an internet connection, desperate for attention.

If it wins by lets say, more than 60% of the vote, Tony will:

Get informed, and understand the shrill of anger will get you nowhere, or:

Consider that there is another point of view, that while different than his, might just be valid, or:

Continue the endless bitching and advise his insiders on his deep understanding of the cardio benefits of marathon running, MLB business matters, and the Chiefs season parking price increase.

If you guessed "C", you win and gets to experience the endless drone of someone who knows nothing, but really does not care. Think of it an a daily prostate exam from the Wolverine.

  13. Dude got reelected & the e tax will pass. Also, see you guys at the convention hotel ground breaking. They're already breaking ground on the Port KC sponsored Corrigan building on Main St

  14. Just follow Heather Hall. She opposes the ETax. Too bad she is too weak and cowardly to say so.

Ask her about her husband's promotion at KCPD. Funny how that happened immediately after she took office. We are all paying for that. He needs to be the first person laid off if the ETax doesn't pass.

  15. I dislike and will not support Sly or the ETax because Sly supports that POS Troy Schulte.

  16. You heard it here first2/10/16, 11:25 PM

E-tax is unconstitutional Class-action against City Hall coming soon.

  17. Recall Sly James.

  18. The voter turnout will be around 10% as usual and will be made up of mostly older residents and those who benefit financially from city hall having lots of unaccounted for money sloshing around for their projects, consulting gigs, and other "must have" ideas that they can come up with.
The vast majority of KCMO residents will watch from the sidelines, as usual.
And the folks who don't even live in KCMO, but who work there, will be unrepresented.
It will never change on its own.

  21. The E-Tax has one opponent who knows something about the economy.
The retiring KC Fed Chairman gave a speech to the KC Rotary Club 4 years ago and said that the e-tax is holding KC back and it should be replaced.
It is amazing that the City Council does not put a plan together to gradually get the City off of this tax.
How many businesses have moved out of KC due to this tax???

  22. Etax is progress.

  23. vote yes on Question 1! vote no on Heather Hall!
