ReplyDelete200 year old dead art form perused by hoody toody rich people and dance instructors who had to learn it so their students damn sure have to learn it too.
ReplyDeleteIt's ridiculous to watch though it takes lots of talent, skill and practice to perform. So does driving a 6 inch spike into wood with your penis BUT why would you?
The only down side is this particular art usually only survives by taxing a community to provide for it. Some of the music is magical. Some of it is ruined by vocal libratos that even if they are in a understandable language are rendered ineligible but abstruse turns of Vibrato that makes Whitney Houston's crappy version of the Star Spangled Banner (there I said it even though I know the rest of you wanted to but feared being branded a racist) sound like the paint shaker was only on low. Man can a Soprano in full gait really break an eardrum with her caterwauling bullshit.
Anyways, woohoo, some methed up white girl on her tippy toes, yay.
