Harsh times continue for Kansas City Public Schools as parent and teacher concern was answered with cold, hard financial reality amid another round of school closings.
Reality . . . The real gauge of KCPS progress has always been enrollment as families have been fighting to leave the district and student numbers over the past 30 years reveal a mass exodus from this local institution.

Someone should explain to "the community" that when a school district goes from 70,000+ students to 17,000, it doesn't need as many buildings. And school districts are generally funded on a per-pupil basis, so the money the district receives from the state and local taxes will be much less.

just packing up and moving to raytown, Grandview, hickman mills school districts. haven't overburden the lee's summit district yet but getting there.

ReplyDeleteLafayette, Crossroads etc can fit all these white children in just a handful of schools. ..and god forbid these Lil saltines go to a black school a block from their Midtown homes
