Kansas City Ruckus Right Now

There's a lot to cover this morning but for early birds with a bit of time. Check the latest episode of Ruckus and their discussion of some of Kansas City's most important issues right now. From transit to development . . . This GOLD STANDARD of Kansas City discourse is one of the few places where a bit of back and forth is tolerated.

Description . . .

"Mike Shanin talks to Oliver Burnette, executive director of the Midwest Innocence Project, about efforts to exonerate the wrongly incarcerated. Then Mary O'Halloran, Jim Heeter, Woody Cozad and Ron Freeman discuss the Iowa Caucuses, the report about Kansas City commute times and how they might affect public transportation use and the competing proposals for Kemper Arena."

  3. I remember Oliver from his coffeehouse days. He was a first rate asshole.

That show generally has three viewers: Tony, Shanin's DVR, and .... Ok, that show generally has two viewers.

  5. WELCOME TO HALLEY'S COMETUCKUS!!!!!

....that weekly space junk for thought fight over the news of the day and the trends of the time.

Officially designated 1P Shanin/Halley Cometuckus, it is a short-period KCPT phenomenon visible from Earth every 75–76 years, whereby the panel of Ruckettes actually balances with 2 liberals and 2 conservatives.

Shanin/Halley is the only known short-period comet appearing in the public television galaxy that is clearly visible to the naked eye from Earth, and the only naked-eye comet that might appear twice in a human lifetime!

Shanin/Halley seemingly last appeared in the inner television spectrum of the Solar System in 1940, but was only observed by research scientists pioneering the early days of television. Their journals tell us that the young Mr. Shanin was cracking witty remarks from day one.

EXCELLENT showing by Mr. Freeman and Mr. Cozad!!!!!

  7. I watched Big Bang Theory. Much more entertaining and informative. Best line from last night from Sheldon to his grandmother:
"Here's your whiskey Meemaw just the way you like it. A lot and in a glass."
