TKC Envy link for the day . . . Here's some real estate pr0n that's probably a promo for something most of the d-bags who read this blog can't afford but still is a nice bit of eye candy to motivate TKC readers in the dead end jobs that will never afford this lavish lifestyle without a major lottery win. Take a look: NEW LIFE TO AN OLD ADDRESS

  1. Not a bad design. It's a little weird to have the a laundry room/office nook in the same space. Also, not sure about a chandelier over the kitchen island. The rest of the house is nice. But fuck prairie village in general. They should have built out west joco instead.

  2. White walls are the latest, "beams" and big lighting--so, this P.V. redo echos new built suburb, anywhere metro KC. The insurance, tax and utility increases may be nice profit bumps and neighbors get a pleasant view. Wages/taxes for those in design, skilled labor, and clean/haul are gains for our local economy.

Does Scovell-Wolfe do annual charitable build projects (on TV 4 yesterday) for special needs kids like Jake Schloegel and his firm? THAT would be a great kindness.

  3. The Tiny House movement is alive and well in Prairie Village!

  4. Garage doors should never be a major feature of the front of a house!

  5. 10:49 yep, and neither should grandmama's old torn couch with a rusty charcoal grill and three pit bull pups gnawing on porch posts and chewing on scattered torn up kids' toys.

But, seriously, for classy curb appeal Mission Hills and equivalent hoods have side/rear attached or side/rear setback detached garages. Even original builds in Brookside and Westwood have mostly rear detached garages, and alot of shared driveways and adjoining garages (ugh!). And those newer 2 1/2 or 3 car garages that are half or more of the front (blech!). Good 'ol U.S. bastardized architecture.

  6. It has kind of a nouveau-riche Midwestern pimp look, I would say.
