The reference to recent football and social justice protest scandal is apt and provides some context for a consideration of injustice along with the possibility that readers might determine that ALL VIOLENCE AND THREATS AGAINST STUDENTS IS UNACCEPTABLE no matter the political or demographic background.

Ok so this is a family assault, nothing more. Yeah the religious aspect plays in but this DID NOT happen on the Mizzou Campus, but elsewhere in Columbia. He IS NOT currently a grad assistant/faculty at Mizzou, as his term ended in July. Unfortunately like everything else these days, people roll out their Jump to Conclusion Mats before they know what the real story is. Its easy to cast blame and bias without the facts. If that is the way our society is going to deal with things then we should just get rid of our justice system.
ReplyDeleteSo a university employee is not responsible for their actions as long as it takes place off campus? The rednecks who yelled at a black student were probably not students or university employees and were not driving on university property. So how is that different?
ReplyDeleteThe fact is university leaders cannot stop non university students or employees from yelling at students. They can however terminate employment for those who assault young women, even if its in the name of Allah.
Once again Cashill throws shit against the wall to see if it sticks.
