TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! MISSOURI STATE TREASURER ROCK STAR DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE PAT CONTRERAS PULLS EPIC KANSAS CITY SUPPORT!!!

Pat Contreras has an impressive amount of support from the Missouri Democratic Party and tonight in Kansas City his "rising star" status was confirmed with an enthusiastic crowd of supporters gathered tonight.

For a sleepy Monday night after the Thanksgiving holiday, some of this town's top power brokers seemed enthusiastic in showing their support.

Here's a quick look at the gathering along with just  a few insights.

From the Jackson County Prosecutors Office . . .

Local law dudes Ted Hughes and Crispin Rea were among the crowd.

A bit of hometown support . . .

Design dude Eric Negrete seemed hopeful about the chances of Mr. Contreras . . .

Power broker consultant Shawn Borich and Former Council Dude John Sharp were on hand tonight as well.

Mr. Borich was exceptionally helpful in terms of understanding this rising star candidate from the perspective of an insider:

"I think we're looking at Missouri Democrats excited about finding new people to take leadership roles and the party is looking to 'build its bench' and looking into the future . . ."

Maybe a few more insights on this front later . . .

Here's a few more denizens in the crowd. All wearing name tags:

Again, altogether a crowd of about 100 for this statewide contender who is a political newbie but looks for an upset victory.

    And the latest "rising star".
It's not hard to see why the voter turnout is so low.

  9. Ready for Jess!11/30/15, 7:54 PM

This guy is not the the biggest political news of the night: Our sister, Jessica Podhola announced tonight that she "is in" the contest to fill the open state senate seat vacated by the retirement of Paul LeVota.

  10. too many Democrats in kcmo, this is part of our problem. we need to be truly nonpartisan in our politics.

  11. Podhola has too much baggage even in a "girl power" year.

  15. Jessica P. stands for Chrystal Williams... as does Judy Baker. No wonder that both campaigns have shown disrespect for Mr. Contreras in the comments on here tonight. We should all remember who did that.

  16. Upset victory... The current treasurer is a democrat. There isn't a republican of any note yet. Upset victory over whom?
