TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY OUTRAGE OVER MAYOR SLY'S CITIZEN TASK FORCE ON VIOLENCE!!!

Mayor Sly's latest effort to thwart a recent Kansas City homicide trend has met with mostly negative reaction among locals familiar with more effective crime prevention efforts.

To wit . . .

CHECK THESE TOP 5 NEGATIVE REAX AND CRITICISMS OF MAYOR SLY'S CITIZEN TASK FORCE ON VIOLENCE!!!

The reality here is that EVERYONE wants to see crime in Kansas City decline BUT Mayor Sly's reaction to an uptick in local crime has disappointed even his most strident supporters.

Here's a brief list of local complaints . . .

Local Law Enforcement Rank & File Disappointed They Were Excluded From Mayor Sly's Latest Crime Fighting Effort

A group dedicated to fighting violence without much police presence simply doesn't make sense. Yes, this is supposed to be a "citizen" collective but even the presence of retired law enforcement would've been encouraging among this cadre of supposed crime fighters. Like it or not, police are KC's most active citizens engaged in the fight against crime as part of their vocation . . . Any effort that doesn't at least include soem facet to promote increased participation with cops to stop crime can't really be taken seriously.

Council Lady Jolie Justus Crime Fighting Skillz Questioned

Local media is helping to spread the myth that Council Lady Jolie Justus is a crime fighter . . . In fact, her crime legislation expertise in Jeff City was more along the lines of book keeping and she's new to this game . . . Strangely enough, a better choice would've been Council Dude McManus who actually helped craft REAL anti-crime legislation in the Missouri House according to local experts.

Local Latino Leaders On The Task Force Don't Reside In Kansas City Proper

Here's one that hits home . . . This year multiple shooting and increasing drug gang violence among Latino immigrants in Northeast Kansas City contributed to the local murder count.

Meanwhile, the two Latinos on this task force don't really reside in this town and don't have much connection to the urban core . . . First and foremost . . .

VICE CHAIR OF THE KANSAS CITY CITIZEN TASK FORCE ON VIOLENCE ANDRES DOMINGEZ RESIDES IN THE DEEP, DEEP NORTHLAND OUT OF CITY LIMITS AND NEAR PARKVILLE!!!

He's an educated middle-class guy with a solid rep of doing great non-profit work but in no way connected or close to the problems creating violence in Kansas City's urban core and specifically among the local Latino population.

Joe Faus is a talented artist who does great volunteer work reading with students in both Spanish and English . . . He has resided in JoCo for most of his time in the Kansas City metro area and a permanent KCMO address was unlisted at the time of this writing.

Crystal Williams Appointment: City Politics At Its Worst

The appearance of Jackson County Legislator Crystal Williams on this task force confirms that the effort is nothing more than a bad joke. Kansas City political insiders see this move as the Mayor putting Council Lady Katy Shields on notice that the Mayor could find opposition for her next term . . . Bringing Crystal Williams into the fold of Mayor Sly supporters is a cynical move that's all politics and has nothing do do with crime-prevention. Voters would be hard pressed to list any accomplishments of this lady in Jackson County, so her impending move to City Hall is even more suspect.

What Should Be A Serious KCMO Anti-Violence Effort Is All For Show

Critics say this task force is all about fundraising, politics and appealing to the KCMO civic set. Just like the Mayor's talk about schools with very little action, this seems to be another anti-violence attempt that earned nice headlines but is unlikely to claim meaningful results.

And while the strategy makes for great headlines, the topic of local homicide is far too serious for the Mayor to engage in his typical grandstanding and touting media events while the rising murder count still threatens Kansas City.

  1. aren't most of the mayor's efforts all for show?

  2. Yes, this is more of a distraction than a solution. Northeast has been vigilant in combating crime and vocally frustrated with the mayor's seemingly low priority for crime reduction. To my knowledge, no Northeast residents were approached or recommendied for this task force. I don't want to doom this task force before they've even had a chance to make recommendations, but politically, this is pretty obvious what's going on.

  3. Northeast ran the niggers out problem solved.

  4. A disrespect for local law enforcement. Should have met with police and community stakeholders who have solved a number of killings and crime. And, why become interested in crime-fighting soooooooooo late? Guess better late than never. The task force should be dissolved.

  5. The Mayor speaks like police need to be a part of the solution, part of the community. When he has a chance to lead and bring rank and file in and assist with this discussion he disrespects them. Our backs are turned on him, and his administration. He thought it was bad before, he has no clue.

  7. I'm surprised his PR lackeys didn't include the confetti cannons and toy train caps with this announcement.

  8. This ideology of order that developed in the late nineteenth century echoes down to today – except that today, poor black and Latino people are the main threat, rather than immigrant workers.

  9. Crimes getting worse in KCMO under the James Administrations mediocre so called leadership.

The only thing this crew is interested in is bribes in one form or the other and personal advancement and fuck the people they are supposed to be working for.

More bullshit from a town ran by lairs and folks full of bullshit.

  11. This is window dressing joke that insults the voters and those who live in parts of the City that are suffering with murders and gangs. Thanks for nothing Sly

    Mr. Tony,
I am glad these folks were named to this committee.
It keeps them busy and out of the way.
I hope they have lots of meetings! They should meet at crossroads and under bridges.

  14. Don't call me gets it! ^^^^^^
This town is run by liars accussing everybody else of being liars and all the degenerates want to befriend the liars in charge hoping they can get their snouts to the trough. Now feeding inflated ego, name-droppings, and gradiose announcements and no results. Come dig in. There's enough for everybody but the d-list celebrities first. No shoving, please.

  15. The ape squad is going to clean uo crime in Kansas City. What a joke. Machine guns and napalm mounted on aircraft would do a much better job of ridding this city from the lowlife vermin that prey on ordinary citizens.

    ReplyDelete
  16. This is a typical feel good fuzzy do nothing committee that Sly is so good at.

    ReplyDelete
  17. The problem with these do nothing commissions, they get in the way when people actually need to do something to solve the problems.

  18. All one needs to do is check out Jolie Cakes Justus's twitter feed to see the next disaster in the making.

  19. I don't get my panties in a wad over members of the group not living in KC proper given my bet that most taxes paid in the city come from those residing outside the city limits. I also grasp why local KCPD police were not on the task force given the political mess it could create for officers who have to work for the police chief. No doubt King Sly will dream up some horseshit ordinances based on his hallucinations of what the task force is or has said.

What does get my panties in a wad is this faux representation that this committee will have any measurable impact on local crime when factors that reduce crime are well known among scholars and experienced players in the criminal justice system. The only way things are going to change is to bring in some fresh leadership from outside KCPD, change the culture of that police department and allocate priorities so that performance does not seem to contradict the issues. Doing the same old crap the same old way will result in the same old shit.

  20. Im soooooo glad that Kansas City is starting to wake up to this Crossroads Apartment aka Mayor Sly.
Crystal Williams is disgusting. She has no respect for our dedicated Police Officers, her FB page is loaded with anti-police rhetoric , and is working diligently with Jolie Justus to take away KCPD's hard earned retirement fund.
Jolie Justus's eyes glazed over in the past when anyone talked crime issues.
Jolie also does not return any calls to her constituents. Her goal is to be KCMO's 1st Lesbian Mayor. ..ain't gonna happen. , burnt those bridges with the Gays.
Wanna curb black on black homicide, the they are going to have to admit the Majority of killings are over drugs and turf.
The black community is going to have to stop looking the other way, turn in drug houses, gun trafficers ,pimps .
The Mayor needs to step down, or be recalled.
The trickle down effect of City Hall's corruption is hitting every Midtown /Urban Core neighborhood.

  21. These people are not public servants ... they are jackasses and a threat to our well-being.

  22. This is ridiculous. You are mistaken about Jose Faus. He does not live in JoCo, is closely connected to many projects in urban core of KCMO, including working with students as artist and writer. Note: mural done near 9th and Van Brunt this summer. Multiple boards of urban core organizations. Google him! You'll see! And Andres Dominguez is also closely connected through work with Health Care Foundation.

  23. murals and the arts are the answer.
midnight basketball, teentown dances ,Troost Bridge BBQs, Union Station hiphop dances, Job fairs ,urban core ministry's, mothers in charge, curfews, federal grants, state grants,NoVa all failed
What's left that hasn't been tried. ....here is an idea at an early age hold the parents or legal guardian responsible .Arrest the parents ,nip it before they can be charged as adults. Your daughter gets knocked up at 14 , hold both parents responsible. The teen gets caught stealing hold the parents accountable.
Mothers start questioning your kids, they bring drugs or have a gun in their possession call the police.
Make the "no snitch" brother code a thing of the past.
Basically when you have suburban 13 yearolds stabbing to death someone poor woman at a car wash, dont blame te child blame the woman who raised him, and basically handed him the knife

  24. Crystal was one of Katheryn's prime supporters. I do not see Crystal running against Katheryn. Face it Tony, you have burned your bridges with all your sane tipsters, and so you have to repeat what nuts tell you. Pretty sad.
