Reminds me of when King Knut had himself carried to the edge of the English Channel so he could command the tides to stop. Of course, they didn't. Surely, efficient vehicles and car pools are their routine for travels IF they aren't beating feet and cycling. Guess they know those electric and hybrid cars plug into coal fired charge stations in this metro. Solar, hydro, wind and nuke generation is still minimal around these parts. Back forty years ago earth sheltered, solar/wind energies, and consumption conservation was touted as soon to be widespread and welcome.....hmmm?
