  3. Oh, is Russ Johnson's wife, the Executive Director of the TIFF Commission, having anything to do with this? Ok, how about good ole Russ??

  4. If this does get to a vote will the developers chip in with a million dollars for the campaign? Or do they let the lady fund it all? She might just decide to pack it in because spending a nondeductible million to get five might be too risky. Probably cheaper to throw a few thousand at the city council and have them keep it off the ballot.

  5. So, essentially, Shirley Helzberg, a multi-millionaire with way more than enough money to pay for this project herself, wants the city to fund 38% of her project while she, no doubt, reaps all the profit....

This shit has long since been out of hand. Where do these millionaires/billionaires get off asking for handouts while KCPS has over $200 million in deferred maintenance piling up, while we have public infrastructure that needs funding, etc. The city won't and doesn't hesitate to raise taxes of people with FAR fewer means than the Helzbergs while our city leaders can't bend over fast enough to make life easier for people like Shirley Helzberg. And she doesn't even need the money. She just wants it because she knows she can get it and she's being cheap.
