  1. Sad day for KC. this news is more important than the Royals nonsense.

  2. Yes, it is very sad.

However, bringing the Royals into the discussion makes you sound like a total jackass.

  6. May they rest in peace. We owe these brave firefighters a respect and gratitude for their sacrifice they have given tonight in protecting all of us within the city. I trust and request all citizens to give all the support they can to the family's of the fallen. I weep.

  7. You know that Olive Garden cop is like, damn, well there goes my 15 minutes in the sun.

  8. It doesn't get more noble than a public servant willing to put their life on the line for another. Godspeed to these firefighters and condolences to their families and friends.

  9. Kind of puts that whining and crying over some restaurant in perspective...

  10. It was the birthday boy cop that had his day in the sun

  11. Fireman’s Prayer

When I am called to duty, God

    whenever flames may rage,

Give me the strength to save some life

    Whatever be its age.

Help me to embrace a little child

    Before it’s too late,

    Or some older person

from the horror of that fate.

    Enable me to be alert

    And hear the weakest shout,

    And quickly and efficiently

    to put the fire out.

I want to fill my calling

and give the best in me,

    To guard my neighbor

    And protect his property.

And if according to Your will

I have to lose my life,

Please bless with Your protecting hand

    My children and my wife

    1. Police have serious threats from many fronts. Drugged, drunk, plain devilish and total dirtbag dangers lurk in more places now.
So add doofus as well. Let PD have their guns ALWAYS while in uniform. Otherwise, is insanity...they'd be sitting ducks to the wackos.

  15. FD & PD along with all medical and sheriff first responders are due our respect. Willing to give all, two made their FINAL CALL for us tonight.
Let's remember our military also. Ten p.m. TV4 announced a story about 2 girls banned from wearing U.S. Air Force sweatshirts to school.
ARE THE P.C. IDIOTS SPIRALING AMERICA INTO HELL'S FIRE ??????
Oh, yeah, but you see the big red dots 3rd eye, head scarves and islami symbols drawn on backpacks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. The last alarm

    My father was a fireman.
He drove a big red truck
and when he'd go to work each day
he'd say "Mother wish me luck".
Then Dad would not come home again
'til some time the next day.
But the thing that bothered me the most
was the thingÕs some folks would say,
    "A fireman's life is easy,
he eats and sleeps and plays,
    and sometime's he won't fight a fire
for days and days and day's".
When I first heard these words
I was to young to understand
but I knew when people had trouble
Dad was there to lend a hand.
Then my father went to work one day
and he kissed us all goodbye
    but little did we realize
that night we all would cry.
My father lost his life that night
when the floor gave way below
and I'd wondered why he'd risked his life
    for someone he didn't know.
    But now I truly realize
the greatest gift a man can give
is to lay his life upon the line
so that someone else might live.
So as we go from day to day
and we pray to God above
say a prayer for your local Firemen.
He may save the one's you love

  18. I had a feeling there would be more deaths in that area tonight. Oh how my heart grieves for those who have fallen especially those who are innocent or helping others.

Lord I ask for you to help those families of the victims of this tragedy in this fire.

    Amen

  19. Thanks SuperDave for that familiar prayer. My mother cross-stitched it years ago and it hung next to the crucifix and St. Florian medal right above my dad's and brothers' photos of them in FD dress uniform.

  20. There once was a Super named Dave
Who kept Tony's dick in a cave
    "I know it's a sin,"
    He said with a grin,
"But think of the money I save!"

  21. The Last Alarm is good...first time seeing it...copied it for my Irish cousin (retiring firefighter 12/31/15 - 34 yrs. served - 55 years young). Guinness time !!!!!

  22. Yeah Super Dave those prayers are cool.
    God bless you my friend.

  24. The Best Dog of All

    Loving and loyal,
    A friend through and through,
How in the world can I
    live life without you?

    I've known you since you
Were just a scrappy little pup.
    Fighting to survive,
    And you never gave up.

I watched you grow into a
    beautiful canine friend.
    Back in those days,
I could not imagine this end.

But now it is all over,
    And you're truly gone.
    Somehow I'll find a way
    To try to carry on.

    Perhaps one day I'll find
    A new puppy who,
    Will become my dear friend,
    But she'll never replace you.

    I'll keep your little photo
    hung up on my wall,
    And I'll always remember you
As the very best dog of all.

  29. A fire like that ought to scare every one of us.
Really, we're not ready, like we should be.

Sorry for those lost. No words cover it.

  33. There once was a fellow called Dwight,
Who thought a water bed was right,
But his house caught on fire,
    And the outcome was dire,
When he was poached to death that night!

    lol

  34. I just read a sign on I70 that says homosexuality is a sin. Lets all think about hot steamy sex to take our minds off the orphans the kansas city slum Lord community created tonight

  35. Democrat greedy firefighter union slobs going to scam the taxpayers for more bennies out of this one --

higher pay -- more positions-- likely another statue or fountain somewhere -

as Democrat Rahm sez-- never let a good crisis go to waste.

BTW - per OSHA stats for 2013 --Firefighters are 13th most hazardous job -- waay below store clerks, cab drivers and farm workers.

  36. Very bitchy people on this blog. Some of you are absolute scum. You do not represent Kansas City. Not one bit.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Don't worry 11:33, the city has already cut position and will reward fire fighters and their families with a 2-5 year pay freeze. I'm sure we can figure out a tax cut for you. Anyway, you probably live in Johnson County anyway. Fire fighters will continue to give you their all even though you spit on them.

  39. Wow, TKC is on fire tonight. I wonder if it's even possible for the conversation to get any more vile tonight. Kansas City's finest are right here. Tragedy strikes the community and TKC celebrates moral superiority and dick sucking...
