Kansas City sports fans endure yet another slap in the face on this Sunday from a greedy corporation attempting to capitalize off of home team spirit.
To wit . . .
RIGHT NOW KANSAS CITY ROYALS FANS ARE LIGHTING UP SOCIAL MEDIA WITH COMPLAINTS ABOUT A SUBSCRIPTION GAMEBIT FROM TIME WARNER WHICH MOVES THE GAMES BEHIND AN EVEN HIGHER PAYWALL PACKAGE!!!
This is a cynical and despicable ploy for a lot of reasons but mostly because it stinks of a sleazy bait and switch tactic given that there wasn't a lot of warning of this move and it seems last minute to cable subscribers who are already paying premium prices.
However . . .
THE TIME WARNER SUBSCRIPTION PLOY HAS BACKFIRED IN KANSAS CITY AND OUR BLOG COMMUNITY IS 1ST TO REPORT WIDESPREAD CONSUMER DISGUST WITH THIS SUBSCRIPTION SIGNUP EFFORT!!!
Again, bigger picture here for those who aren't sports fans . . . Another Kansas City corporation is trying to use home town spirit in order to profit with a scheme that really plays on the emotions of locals at a crucial moment.
Early TKC Exclusive as well . . . Consumer complaint advocates are taking note of this local scheme and our blog community is 1st to note fan anger that might result in even more wrangling.
TKC: LIKE IT OR NOT, KANSAS CITY RESIDENTS SIMPLY GET SMACKED IN THE FACE FOR BEING FANS OF LOCAL SPORTS TEAMS!!!
Fun fact . . . Nobody is even considering signing up for this package because of the stickup tactic.
