Quick bit of Saturday good news . . . Kansas City Insiders tell us that Mayor Sly was so taken aback that the new council is challenging him on the hotel AND is willing to listen to a recently certified voter petition against the project that he basically withdrew from civic life for about a week . . .
TKC EXCLUSIVE: In the aftermath of a City Hall shouting match Mayor Sly took a break from local events and appearances for about a week.
The Mayor skipped Democratic parties and a rather important meeting in South KC that he normally attends without fail.
HOWEVER . . .
We're glad to see the Mayor reemerge to catch a recent Dave Stephens show. One of Kansas City's greatest living jazz performers is reason enough to come out of hiding and we're happy to see the Mayor back in the swing of things.
