"The Fundraiser featuring Claire McCaskill that you blogged about last week is causing the “Team Sanders” a lot of stress. Mike’s wife is in charge of the event. Mike does not want Claire to know how few people want to be associated with him at a public event. It is pretty clear that they had trouble selling tickets to the event, so Team Sanders strong armed the Unions to buy enough tickets to make the room look full. Now the Team Sanders is having trouble giving away the tickets that are paid for because no one wants get on a list that ends up with a visit from the FBI. Don’t be surprised if they end up loading up people into buses at nursing homes or Alzheimer units and bringing them to the fundraiser to fill the rooms."

To be fair, raising cash for local Democrat Party ladies with the help of Sen. Claire is a tough sell. And once again Missouri Super-minority Democrats are seemingly far more effective at picking apart each other than their Republican opposition.

Don't blame Mike for this one. Claire is in no man's land between Hillary and Obama. She better hope that Bernie Sanders starts making a better showing or she might have to retire early. Hillary doesn't trust McCaskill nor should she and Claire has alienated almost every Democrat in Missouri with her cloak and dagger strategies.

Seems to me there was a big party "fundraiser" for Dutch about 15 years ago. Huge sums were supposed to be raised for a foundation. What foundation was that? Did it ever pay for anything that served the public good?

ReplyDeleteThe organizers sounded pretty worried last week. They called a couple of times and sent a few emails begging for ticket sales. You gotta figure Jim Nutter will cover all the cost overruns quietly. The ladies need not worry. I think they wanted to raise money for Claire but when it became clear that no one was giving they changed what the event was for. Shit happens.
