Typical Summer storms point out the fragility of Kansas City infrastructure yet again as this town copes with more institutional FAIL.
Midweek example:
NBC Action News: Thousands are without power after another batch of strong storms hits the metro area.
Fox4kc: Just before 5 a.m. KCP&L reported that nearly 10,000 customers were in the dark and did not have power.
KMBC: The majority of the outages were in south Kansas City but spread through the area.
Even worse is that even more branches are coming down that Kansas City STILL won't be cleaning up.
More in a bit . . .
Delayed/nonexistent infrastructure repair is a definite signal that we've entered into a period of slow and permanent economic contraction.
ReplyDeleteJust look at the condition of the roads and highways on your way to work. Seem a little different than they were even 5 years ago?
Face it folks, the age of 3000-mile Caesar salads and take-out tubs of Kung Pow Chicken is rapidly ending.
We've entered the First Act of what I like to call The Long Emergency.
Capitalism is over
ReplyDeleteSince Crico got her part-time gig at KCPL the place has been run as ineptly as the city.
ReplyDeleteBut she can do them any good for only a few more days.
Anyone need their nails done?
money was allocated for infrastructure long before Circo left the nail salon business.
ReplyDeleteIt's cause of the streetcar.
ReplyDeleteThe streetcar will bail us out and fill that new hotel with tourists. Kansas City: Ready for the 40s.
