KANSAS CITY TOY TRAIN 'RESPECT THE RAIL' STREETCAR SCARE TACTICS!!!

Here's a reminder that Kansas City's toy train poses a clear and present danger to everyone in its path and not just small biz losing money along the route.

Checkit:

Campaign will promote safety near streetcars

Deets

"On Thursday, the Streetcar Authority board discussed the “Respect the Rail” campaign that will roll out slowly, beginning next week, via social messaging and other strategies. Signs and slogans with the streetcar logo will proclaim, “Be Smart. Be Safe. Be Ready.”

The messages are aimed at the motorists, cyclists, pedestrians, and others that will eventually interact with the streetcar vehicles on the 2.2-mile downtown route."

Thought this was pretty much a tactic to discourage criticism of the project as well ...

  1. So they are educating the public on how to be safe around this sub par sloppily designed and constructed project that's costing the public a mini fortune. Well how ya like that.

  2. Oh boy is Davey or Matt gonna run out and yell.. hey you get away from those tracks you stupid skateboarder, and you with your delivery truck, how dare you disrespect the rail!!!!

  3. -eyeroll-

Only you could make a safety campaign into a "scare tactic."

Are you even able of some introspection to realize how irrelevant your utterings have become?

    I'm guessing no.

  4. Haha! Beginning of the streetcar neighbors and their god damn cars and trucks aren't parking like we want them to campaign. Call the police and ticket them bastards!

  5. Maybe it will safer when then cover up all the construction flaws with finish and cosmetic work.

@kcpolice has initiated enforcement of parking along the @kcstreetcar route (where signage & striping exists). Park within the white line!

  7. Will they include some tips for when it starts falling apart in about ten years?

  8. Future historians will rank this among the best of KC's boondoggles from the James era.

  9. How about a campaign to "respect the taxpayer dollars" and NOT fund a subsidized downtown hotel, or a new airport. Apparently it is too late for the worthless streetcar.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Whats next ticketing walkers who can get to their destination faster than the choo choo can get them there for disrespecting the rail?

    ReplyDelete
  11. I wonder how many injury lawsuits taxpayers can expect to fork out for.

  12. This is to protect the interests of the 344 who voted for it but said they probably wouldn't use it back when the first two rigged elections we're railroaded over the public. Assurance them pesky outsiders from the backwards rural areas of Midtown, East KC, and South KC stuck with bill for this won't inconvenience them.

You'd have to be dysfunctional or have a nigger's IQ to think that, nigger IQs proven to be lower ran humans in numerous studies.

    So! Which one is it?

  14. 4:35 The N troll is back! Always wanted to ask you which streetcar neighbors supporting hipster bar or latte shop you usually work out of.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Protect the rail. This must have been on the wish list of the 344. Or mensa's magnificent 50?

  16. Citizens already proved they are smart by voting down the TDD and Toy Train extensions farce they tried to cram down the public's throats last August.

  17. Whine harder and louder Tony.

Then stick your head on the rails and let me know how's it going.

  18. This will be a disaster. The biggest BOONDOGGLE in Killa City history.

A disaster of epic scale inflicted on the taxpayers of this shit hole.

Hello friends, the Polar Bear has returned, refreshed and ready for more Killa City ignorance.

  19. And what does the toy train do when there's an accident, fire or incident that blocks the tracks. I guess you'd have to bring in buses to transport riders around the block.

    CHANGE BAD

  22. We'll own any streetcar supporter in a debate. They simply can't and won't respond to the fact that light rail is an obsolete technology and that bus systems are a more efficient and cost effective way of moving people.

They'll just babble on about “investment” and what developers want, include projects that haven’t yet (and may never be) built, we're going to be a global city, we need to compete.. What?! Just say you want a pretty train as a status symbol so you can be as hip as Portland and stop wasting peoples valuable time.

  23. "Respect the Rail." Huh.

I have my own slogan, actually. "Fuck you, Mayor Sly."

    I think mine is better.

    Your thoughts?

  24. 4:44 just has to be the dumbest motherfucker in the country right now. To dispute the fact that NIGGERS are among the very lowest of the low IQ's, is, in itself, incredibly stupid.

  25. Finally some goods news for bicyclist; the streetcar tracks are complete in River Market. Now the City with the help of BikeWalk KC can get the East–West bicycle lanes marked in this area.
