TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY TOY TRAIN STREETCAR CONSTRUCTION SHUTS DOWN MAIN STREET SATURDAY!!!

Here's yet another sign that the d-bags developing Kansas City's toy train streetcar don't really know what they're doing.

To wit . . .

MAIN STREET SHUTS DOWN THIS BUSY SUMMER SATURDAY THANKS TO TOY TRAIN STREETCAR CONSTRUCTION!!!

OR . . . Maybe Main St. in Downtown KCMO isn't so busy after all and nearly vacant Downtown during the weekend is a great time to build but shows us that attracting people inside the loop still hasn't worked after BILLIONS worth of investment already. It can't be both and it's yet another reason to be skeptical about how much the toy train will help downtown.

Anyhoo . . . Take a look at today's construction update . . .

KC Streetcar Constructors will work this weekend on two of the last segments of track. Work will require the short-term closure of Main Street and East 9th Street. On Saturday, June 27, 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., Main Street between 8th and 9th Street will close due to track construction. Additionally, 9th Street will close between Main and Walnut starting Saturday, June 27 at 6:00 a.m. until Monday, June 29 at 6:00 a.m. 8th Street will remain open this weekend. Please see the helpful map of the downtown closures on the KC Streetcar website.

Currently, traffic is extremely congested in the Central Business District between 8th - 12th Streets and in the River Market area. Please check the construction map on www.kcstreetcar.org and our twitter feed (@kcstreetcar) daily for road closures updates. Currently 3rd is closed from Walnut-Grand ; Grand is open to southbound traffic only from 2nd St - 4th St; Main St is closed this Saturday, June 27, 6:00am-7:00pm; 9th Street is closed June 27-June 29, 6:00am-6:00am, and 13th is closed this weekend from Main-Baltimore.

  3. This is a reminder that construction zones are dangereous and confusing to motorist. In the interest of safety people should stay out of the River Main area and avoid Main Street.
